How I did my Odyssey-inspired photoshoot!

Weeks in the planning, with lots of last-minute ideas and additions!

Writing a shot list / script helped loads!

Huge thank you to everyone involved, including Emily on hair and makeup, Rahim, Gabriela and Ana for playing the characters of Odysseus, Penelope and Calypso, Lowri, Dan and Evie for carrying stuff and recording the BTS vids, Angharad for bringing her horse to the beach, and Darran for towing the horsebox, Fabrikate for the fabric, Marigolds for the costume hire, The Bear hotel for giving us a space for hair and makeup and The Physics Gardens, Cowbridge for allowing us to shoot there!

The Odyssey - The King and His Queen

The journey is over.

The years of war, the endless seas, the storms sent by the gods, and the long years of waiting have finally come to an end.

Odysseus has returned to the place where his story truly began.

Beside him stands Penelope - the woman whose faith never wavered, whose patience became as legendary as the adventures that kept him from home.

Together, they stand once more at the entrance to their palace. Not as the young king and queen who were forced apart, but as two people forever changed by time, loss, and perseverance.

Their greatest victory was never the fall of Troy.

It was finding their way back to one another.

Thank you for following this photographic retelling of The Odyssey. Every image in this series has been created as a tribute to one of the greatest stories ever told - a tale of courage, love, loyalty, and the enduring power of home.
