How would I describe my photography style?

For me, photography has always been about so much more than taking a pretty picture.

It’s about creating images that make me smile every time I look back through them. I love colour, interesting compositions and the influence of cinema.

I’m drawn to photographs that have personality, that feel full of life and that make me feel something. My style is a mix of documentary, creativity and a little bit of the unexpected. I don’t want every photograph to look the same, or every wedding to be photographed in the same way.

I want to look back at a collection of photographs and feel that same sense of joy all over again. I think that’s probably the best way I can describe what I do.

Photography should make you feel something. And for me, that feeling is joy.

A rainy wedding day? Oh, I promise you, it can still be pure magic!

This one was WET! Family photos? Inside we went. Couple portraits? We grabbed a little break in the rain. Confetti? We waited until the very last speck of daylight after dinner and made it happen!

And guess what? It didn’t matter one little bit.

Your wedding day isn’t about the weather or the perfect forecast. It’s about the love, the moments and the memories you make.

I think we did pretty well, considering the weather had other plans!

An Autumn wedding in the UK means we can’t always guarantee sunshine. But we can absolutely embrace the day we’ve got.

Hannah and William’s wedding at The Old House 1147 had rain, colour, confetti, the most brilliant unexpected moments and a whole lot of love.

These are the weddings I love: the ones where you throw the rulebook out of the window and get married your way, because really who cares about the bloody rain?!
