I'm honoured to be capturing the upcoming Fife Memorial Event with Butterfly Release for Anam Cara Fasgadh at The Old Manor Hotel in Lundin Links on Saturday 12 September 2026.

​Having photographed their butterfly release at West Lothian Crematorium earlier this year, I can say firsthand how moving and supportive these gatherings are. It is a true privilege to be invited back to photograph such a meaningful event as they bring it to Fife for the first time.

​The afternoon runs from 12:00pm - 2:00pm (please arrive from 11:30am) and provides a gentle, welcoming space for families who have experienced the loss of a baby, child or young person. It is a place to connect, share memories, and honour loved ones together.

Anam Cara Fasgadh is delighted to be bringing our Memorial Event to Fife for the first time.

This will be a gentle space for families who have experienced the death of a baby, child or young person to come together with others who understand. A place where names can be spoken, memories shared and loved ones remembered.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are warmly welcome. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no expectation of how you should feel. Simply come as you are.

As part of the afternoon, we will have our Butterfly Release ~ beautiful and symbolic moment as we remember those who should still be here, but whose lives continue to be carried in our hearts.

We are especially grateful to our amazing Fife Community Worker, Christine Birrell, whose dedication and hard work has helped make this event possible. We are also grateful to every family who comes along, year after year, to remember, to support one another and to ensure that our babies, children and young people are never forgotten. 🦋

Maybe because my Grandad was a farm worker when Mum was born and Mum enjoyed taking us countryside trips, but I've always loved watching all kinds of farm work.

Plus, seeing wildlife, like deer running across the fields, pheasants clucking away in the distance, birds swooping to catch insects, or the livestock moving from field to field. There's always something interesting to capture.
