Japan highlights

Thank you Nagasaki! Highlights were a visit to Glover colonial style park, Chinese temples, a ride on the old city tram and a surprise outdoor concert by a school brass band — all in pink!

South Korea 🇰🇷
Busan: glass towers spilling down hillsides straight into the harbour.
Inland to Gyeongju — great grassy mounds rising from a vast plain. Royal tombs of the Silla dynasty. Beneath each one, golden crowns, jade, swords. Sealed for a thousand years.
Then the Emille Bell. 771 AD. 23 tonnes of bronze. And a legend so dark it stays with you: cast imperfect, an infant sacrificed into the molten metal to make it ring true.
We finished on Mount Tohamsan — a stone rotunda cut into the granite.
Some places are beautiful. Some places are ancient. Some get under your skin.

Miyazu, Kyoto.
A boat ride around the bay of Ine followed by a visit to the village and a wander around the Fisherman's houses. A Shinto temple at Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park, cable chairs that take us to views of a sandbar covered by 700 pine trees spanning 2 miles.
