New Lens Day.
Laowa 6mm f2 Zero-D. It is supposed to be the widest rectilinearly corrected lens on the market. The lens in manual focus but, to be honest, it will be set on infinity 95% of the time because of the huge depth of field.

I have attached a few quick test shots taken using my OM-1 MkII and I can see very little, if any, barrel distortion that one would expect from such a wide lens.

I am looking forward to going out with this lens and trying some landscapes and city photography.

Today I ordered a new lens!
It's a Laowa 6mm f2 Zero-D for my OM kit (12mm equivalent of full frame). It's the widest rectilinear lens available and will be used as part of one of my planned projects.
Keep an eye out for my first few test shots.

Well that's 2025 over and it's been quite a good one. I travelled to Australia (again) to see my kids and grandchildren, enjoyed days out with friends and family, attended family events (some good, some not so good) and hit the big seven oh.
I also changed my complete photographic kit from Canon to OM System at the end of October. This has meant going through a bit of a learning curve getting to grips with the new system and I'm still learning I have to say it's been great.
I am planning a couple of photography projects for 2026 which I will keep to myself for the time being, just in case they don't pan out.
Finally, I'd like to wish a happy and prosperous new year.

I wanted to test out the composite features of my OM-1 MkII for star trails so, as we had a nice clear night yesterday, I set up on my back patio to give it a go. I have to say that I am really impressed with the capabilities of the OM-1.
Camera: OM-1 MkII
Lens: M Zuiko 12-40 Pro at 12mm f2.8
Exposures: one hours worth of 20 second exposures at ISO 800
Now to find a better location on for the next clear night.

I went out to a friends property last night to try my OM-1 MkII out for a bit of night and astro photography.

Three practice shots with my new OM-1 and 100-400mm lens. Going to OM Systems (Olympus) from Canon is a bit of a learning curve but I am getting to grips with the new kit.

It's official! I am no longer a Canon user. All my kit was sold today and I have bought a pair of new OM Systems lenses.
