Jo Haycock Photography A documentary photographer telling stories creatively and authentically. Connecting with communities

I'm a documentary photographer with a passion for telling a story. I am drawn to people and their emotional attachment to their environment and those around them. I thrive on building relationships with the people and objects that I photograph. My subject and I become an equal balance and we become proud and excited to share what we love as we see it.

What an incredible day planned for this year's International Women's Day at The Riverfront

Year on year this event gets more into the heart, talent and stories of local Newport communities and beyond, that share, love and celebrate together.

So many vital discussions, creative workshops with poignancy and meaning, song, dance and everything in between takes place there.

Lucky me, I get to go and be among so many friends and see it all 💜

‘The only thing that ever stays the same is change’ The Waterboys.

Stevie reminded me of these simple, yet powerfully true words when I spent time with him and Steph this past summer at their magical place we know and love, called Awen Bach.

It’s Welsh and translates to Little Muse. Six and a half acres nestled between the Usk and Wye valleys - exactly where it needs to be, with Steph from the Usk valley and Stevie from the Wye.

You can feel the connections between land, art and people here as Steph explains their vision of how everything will be edible or can heal you, giving an abundance of what you need.

“I open my food cupboards and question what I buy week-on-week. How it’s made and what goes into it, so we want Awen Bach to be a place we can explore, grow and learn from right here.

It’s connected to my art of investigating, exploring, processing and creating.”

The Path to Awen Bach features in the Late Summer issue of JUNO Magazine

I cannot wait to photograph this wonderful event later. I hear it’s a sell out too, how amazing 🧡

Today is . To mark the occasion, we've built a very special catwalk at Penarth Pier Pavilion to raise vital funds and awareness to ensure that everyone affected by cancer has access to quality services when, where and how they need them; because there are more than two hundred types of cancer in this world, each one dressed differently to the next 🧡
