I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with this great charity for a while now and I’m so happy the government have backed them while they try and help provide working solutions to the problems we find ourselves in.

Take a look at the website and donate if you can!

We are delighted to say that the government has announced it WILL support the first phase of our COVID-19 detection proposal. To have the opportunity to demonstrate that dogs can play a role in the fight against the virus is incredibly exciting. They have the potential to help by quickly screening people, which will be vital as the country moves out of lockdown. Hopefully this will help prevent a second peak and enable precious NHS resources to be used where most needed. Once again a dog’s nose could save many lives.

💐FLORISTS💐

I am no flower expert, in fact I'm pretty useless. I'm getting better the more weddings I do and the more florists I follow but essentially I haven't a Scooby doo what most flowers are, what's in season when and what would work with a particular colour scheme... but then I'm not a florist!! 😱

When it comes to utilising your suppliers one of the best tips I can give is to leave it up to the professionals. Trust them to know their trade.

If I had given too much direction to Rachel (The Rose Shed) I would never have received such a stunning bouquet. I gave her quite a bit of free reign to be creative, work with what is seasonal and I really had no idea what to expect on the day and actually to me that was really exciting. She far exceeded my expectations and I was so thrilled with it. I think you'll agree it's absolutely beautiful.

I also think a common misconception is how much flowers cost. If you want a wedding full of beautiful flowers then you need to be prepared to put a decent whack of your budget on them. Talk to your florist about what is in season as that will keep the cost down too. But whatever you decide respect the price they're charging, years of training, hours of creating your bouquets and displays, endless streams of emails with clients, getting up at stupid o'clock to head to the flower market to collect your precious peonies, delivery time and costs and so much more goes into that fee they're charging.

Flowers can also look amazing in your hair, either as a few sprigs of gyp or a full flower crown, your florist can provide these items too and will deliver them on the morning so that they're really fresh.

A few of my most favourite florists are listed below...

Of course Rachel - The Rose Shed
Stephanie - Verbena Floral Styling
Becci - Bijoux Floral Design

🤔CHOOSING YOUR SUPPLIERS🤔

Having the right people around you on your wedding day really is vital. This doesn't stop at your bridal party. Take your time to choose all your suppliers carefully. Here are a few of my tips...

1. Read reviews, don't just read the first few, go back some way and pluck out a few from years gone by, if they're consistently good then you're on to a good thing.

2. Meet your photographer in person... I can't tell you how important it is to have the right kind of photographer for you. This isn't just in the images they produce but their personality too. If they irritate you then, they're never going to get the best images out of you.

3. Ask for recommendations from suppliers you have already booked. They're likely to have endless lists of people they have worked with before and can trust.

4. Take recommendations from friends, personally experinece is the best way to find people. For me it's the most flattering way I can fill my diary.

5. If someone seems too cheap then ask yourself why. Do your research into their background. They may just be starting out, which isn't a bad thing, just be sure you're going to actually get value for money. Decide on the things that matter to you most and spend your money there.

6. Venues will have suppliers lists, they're a really good place to start. The vendors will know the venue well and the familiarity will help the day run smoothly.

7. Follow your gut. If they're slow at email responses and need to be chased, then are they going to be reliable on the day? If you have your doubts about how reliable someone is then pull them up on it... They will then go out of their way (or should do) to make you feel supported.

My recommended suppliers are from personal experience...

Hello everyone! Apologies for the lack of activity here, it's been a busy summer with one thing and another. Anyway, I will soon be updating my website and this page and keeping it a bit more active in general. With that in mind I have a favour to ask, if I have ever taken photos for you or a friend/family member could you please spare five minutes to give me a rating and leave a comment? It would really help me out and give people an idea of what to expect if they book me. Thanks in advance!
