💙 FREE Father's Day Printable 💙

Looking for something your children can give Dad that he'll actually keep?

I've created a free printable where they can:
✏️ Draw a picture of Dad
💬 Answer funny questions about him
❤️ Write all the reasons they love him

It's simple, personal, guaranteed to make him smile (kids say funny stuff!) and far more meaningful than another pair of novelty socks.

You can download it at the bottom of my Father's Day blog post, which has many other gift ideas: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/5-free-fathers-day-ideas/
or you can send me your email address, and I'll happily email it to you.

Most of us walk the same routes every week and barely notice what's there.

Not because it isn't interesting. Because life moves fast, and we stop really looking.
That's exactly what my monthly photo walks are about — not photography as a skill, but photography as a reason to slow down and pay attention.

No experience needed. No expensive gear required. Just you, whatever camera you have, and a couple of hours to actually see the city you live in.

The next one is Tuesday 2nd June — London Bridge, 11am. Pay what you can (£0–£30). 15 spots only.

Link to find out more and book your place: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/photo-walks-london-south-east/ . I'd love for you to come. 📷

Last call for tomorrow — 2 spots still available for Saturday 25th April.

One more Saturday of spring mini family photo sessions before the final date on 2nd May. If this weekend works for your family, I'd love to spend an hour with you.

Here's the honest pitch: it's one hour. It costs £250. You get a gallery of real, unposed, genuinely lovely photos of your family. The kind that end up on your walls and in albums and that your kids will look at one day and say that's us.

No special occasion needed. No preparation required. Just your family as you are.
Two spots. Tomorrow. Linkto book your own slice of life photo session: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/mini-family-photo-sessions/

Your kids won't look at these photos the way you do.

You'll look at them and see your hair, your weight, the state of the living room, the thing you wish you'd done differently that day.

They'll look at them and see you. They'll see the way you held them. Whether you were laughing. Whether you were there.
They won't care what the house looked like. They won't notice what you were wearing. They'll be looking for evidence of something much simpler and much more important: that they were loved. That you were present. That this family was real and warm and theirs.

The photos that will mean the most to them aren't the ones where everyone looks perfect. They're the ones where something true is happening.
A piggyback in the garden. A pile-on on the sofa. You reading to them, or cooking with them, or just sitting nearby while they play.
These are the images they'll come back to. These are the ones they'll show their own children one day.

Give them something real to look at.

P.S. 5 spring mini sessions available this April and May. One hour. Your real life. For more info: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/mini-family-photo-sessions/

Two spots left for Saturday 25th April, to do a mini family photo session this spring🌿

Last weekend's sessions were great. There is something about spring light and families just being themselves outside that is so beautiful and timeless.

If you want in on this Saturday, now's the time. Two spots, one hour each, and then that's it for the 25th.

Same deal as always: no posing, no performing, no pressure. Just your family doing something that you'd normally do, a walk, a park, a slow morning, while I document it for you.

£250. Includes your gallery, 5 downloads, and £25 print credit.

Choosing which family photos to print is genuinely hard.

Not because there aren't enough good ones, but because there are too many, and they all feel important for different reasons.

Here's how I think about it, and what I often suggest to the families I work with:

🌿Pick the ones that make you feel something first. Before you think about which ones "look best".
🌿Don't default to the smiling ones. The quiet moments, the in-between ones, the slightly blurry one where something real is happening, those are often the ones that hold the other feelings, that are equally important.
🌿Think about who's in it. Prints of your children are wonderful. But the ones to prioritise for your walls are the ones with you in them too. (Yes, you. Get in the frame.)
🌿Consider an album alongside wall prints. Albums are underrated. They live on coffee tables, they get picked up, they get looked at together. There's something about turning a physical page that a screen will never replicate.
🌿Give yourself time. Don't rush the choosing process. Sit with your gallery. Come back to it a few times. The ones that matter will keep coming to you.

P.S. Every spring mini session comes with £25 print credit to use in your gallery store — a nudge to actually get something on your walls. 5 spots left in April and May. For more info: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/mini-family-photo-sessions/

Tomorrow. There are still 2 spots left for tomorrow's mini session and I'd love to fill them.

If your Saturday is fairly free and you've been on the fence, this is the sign. Honestly. The kids don't need to be in a mood. The house doesn't need to be tidy. You don't need to have a plan beyond just being together for an hour.

I'll come to you. I'll bring my camera. You bring yourselves.

And in a few weeks, you'll have a gallery of photos that show your family exactly as it is right now, in this season, at these ages.

Two spots left. Tomorrow, Saturday 18th April. Linkto book: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/mini-family-photo-sessions/

I want to share something Joanne shared after seeing her family photos. It's stuck with me.

"She worked some magic and turned an ordinary Saturday afternoon into the extraordinary — giving us beautiful memories to treasure."

An ordinary Saturday afternoon. That's all it was. No special occasion, no big milestone. Just a regular day that now exists in photographs forever.
That's the whole point.

And Zoe, said this afterwards:
"I felt completely comfortable and relaxed throughout — and my husband did too, which is a testament to Saskia, as he usually doesn't enjoy his photo being taken."
The husband who doesn't enjoy having his photo taken. I think I photograph at least one of those every single session. 😄

This is what I want for your family, too. Not a polished, everyone-looking-at-the-camera-at-the-same-time moment. A real one. An ordinary Saturday that becomes something you'll look at for the rest of your life.

I have 9 spring mini sessions left across three dates in April and May. If you've been thinking about it, now's a great time to get your own slice of life documented. Link with all the info: https://www.portrayyourstory.co.uk/mini-family-photo-sessions/
