Know anyone who would like a **paid** internship at up to 10 top London agencies?

I've been working with Team AK Creative who have been devising and setting up an exciting and unique creative diversity internship programme called JOLT. As you know, the industry really needs a good shake up when it comes to the mix of people in their creative departments and they need to do something about it now.

Our scheme – JOLT – has the aim to bring together, grow and support all areas of diversity within agencies; International creatives, female creatives, BAME (Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority) creatives, non graduate creatives, creatives with disabilities, creatives ages 50+ who haven’t worked for over a year but still have a lot to give, creatives from different socio-economic backgrounds and creatives with autism. Creative diversity is so important for agencies to support and we always try to put a diverse range of creatives forward for roles but the truth is that there is such a lack of creatives from different backgrounds out there. So that's why we've come up with JOLT which we believe is a unique, sustainable and life changing programme that could really help change the face of the creative industry.

JOLT, the first ever inter-agency Creative Diversity Internship Scheme will launch at the end of October with 20 talented Interns from a huge variety of backgrounds, 10 top agencies and 10 x 8 weeks of paid placements.

Do you know of anyone from these diverse backgrounds that would be interested in getting onto JOLT? If so please could you forward this message and get in touch with me on this thread and I'll link you up

The Faun anticipates Pride
Thought I'd share the words from Andy Black aka The Faun "I grew up on the outskirts of a northern industrial city in an ex-mining community where gender roles were brutishly defended by an ill-educated and resentful working class. From an early age, I was both ridiculed and admired for being different, camp, freaky, gay, flamboyant, artistic, weird, touched. My parents: liberal, lefty, pinko, feminist softy academics always gave me the time, space, freedom and unconditional love to discover who I am, who I want to be and to choose how to express that.
As a toddler I remember tuts and disdain as a response to my preference for the colourful, sparkly, fluffy, sensual bedazzlement of the brightly decorated toys and clothes officially designated to the children who were authorised to grow their hair, express affection and demonstrate care-giving behaviours toward small plastic effigies of young humans.
As a school-child I remember the taunts of 'puff', 'poofter', 'faggot', 'queer', 'shirtlifter', 'chutney-ferret', 'arse-bandit' etc etc.
As a teen, having a bread-knife thrust in my face to the screamed offer of a 'Chelsea-smile' for refusing to admit to the rumour that I was bisexual.
Having my mother summoned to the high-school's 'head of discipline' to be informed that my sexuality was being discussed in the staff-room.
Being driven home and interviewed by police at 16 after hanging around a known cruising area- looking in the only place I knew to find the mutual physical affection of someone I fancied.
As a young adult, being punched in the face for being gay and being told by the police to 'keep my head down'.
As a man, holding my lovers bleeding face on the way to A&E after being gay-bashed on a bus in Clapham by a man threatening to kill us because that's what the bible says.
Even now, knowing and loving men who, too terrified of their own emotions and others judgement, take deluded wives into lavender marriages or can only have sex whist abusing drink and drugs to quieten the self-loathing inner demons.
The frequent hesitations and nervous skulkings in hotel lobbies when travelling in a same-sex couple.
The cringes at public comments made regarding me playing a 'convincing straight' in films knowing that it has damaged many an actor's reputations with producers & the public.
Wrestling the paranoid narcissism that goes with the habitual search for acceptance and positive reinforcement from a society obsessed with reputation and judgement.
I honestly believe I am one of the lucky ones. I was given enough insight and love early on to know that the presenting hegemony and orthodoxy was optional. Outspoken artists, writers, musicians and their created characters and stories have provided me with role models and examples of courageous ways of being.
Every time I reach for the glitter, or wear bright colours, or wear my hair down, or talk openly about my boyfriend, or have a stranger in my home, or sing out loud, or dance in the street, or hold my partner's hand or walk through soho, a little voice in my head tells me to 'keep your head down'. And (almost) every time, I choose to do it anyway. Because it makes me a little bit braver. And feeling brave makes me feel like a 'real man'. Because to feel the fear- but to have enough love to conquer it- that is courage.
Centuries of repression, millions of people feeling more love than fear.
And that is why today I have a sense of PRIDE." June 26, 2015

An Erotic Circus at London Fashion Week - Eluxe Magazine

First bit of filming for a while using my newish Canon 70D. Was in the media pit of London Fashion Week.. it was hot and sweaty and I had to use mono pod it was so rammed (hence a little wobble here and there!) anyway nice to get coverage from Eluxmagazine.com right after posting it!

With it’s use of vintage and other upcycled fabrics, Itsy Bitsy’s one of the most eco-friendly lingerie brands around. The brand raised a few eyebrows this London Fashion Week with their cheeky presentation of their latest collection, called the Erotic Circus. Featuring everything from 70s style gol…
