What happens when you shoot expired medium format film?

Back out with shooting this time on my
Mamiya RB67 with expired XP2

I Love shooting on this bad boy! I’m definitely looking to shoot more portraits on film going forward, so let me know if you fancy getting creative!!

Most people don’t realise this tiny lighthouse is the oldest working one in the UK.

Perched above Ilfracombe harbour, St Nicholas Chapel has been guiding boats in for over 600 years. Built in 1321! It has been lighting the way since the 14th century.

What looks quiet now was once a lifeline for sailors finding their way home.

“A slow morning in the surf”

At the edge of Exmoor, as the moors meet the coast line is the small town of Lynton and Lynmouth.

Me, my father and a dear family friend got up early and went for a morning surf. It’s been quite a time since I last stood on a board.
Of course me being me I took my camera. Was nice to get a few shots in the morning light.

“Instow”
I’m gunna be back in Devon for a little while. I’m spending my time exploring the places I used to visit as a younger man. Even places I used to go as a kid, it’s nice to slow down and see how my perspective of places has changed over the years. Debating making a photobook of my travels during this time but we’ll see..

Gabriola island, a place I long to visit again nestled just west of Vancouver. A beautiful place of community and stunning natural views. A truely stunning place to behold, if you are ever near it I highly recommend!

It was the first time I’d ever saw whales in the wild, unfortunately they escaped my camera but it’s a memory I will long treasure!

“Spring is coming”
I love this piece of music, I’ve listened to it a lot recently, it’s a reminder that no matter how dark winter can feel it won’t be long before the flowers start to bloom again. As with all things everything must end, but that doesn’t mean life stops. Instead it finds a new way to grow into something beautiful.

Day out in Venice shooting travel and street work.

No plan. Just my camera, the canals and a lot of walking. Such a beautiful city, hoping I get to explore it again someday soon!
It was fun to test a few compositions whilst chasing the light through side streets and across bridges.
Venice is one of those cities that makes you want to shoot constantly! Both travel and street photography, I hope to shoot some portraits next time I’m there!
