My first piece of art in ages. I'm supposed to be tidying the studio but decided that I would use the first items I came across to create so it came from a relaxed place. I've called this 'lady at raceday'. There must have been something in my subconscious about the beauty of ladies in hats in the summer sunshine. Are you off to the races soon?

Follow us on our day out around Christchurch spotting the (or as my kids called it the whale tail trail) . My favourite sculpture was the one of a mermaid in the style of stain glass window by the cathedral. We chose Christchurch to avoid the crowds we thought might be heading to the beach yesterday and the kids could go on the playground at the back of town. There's a collection of tails within easy reach of the town centre. We stopped for lunch and milkshakes tearooms. The app costs £1.99 and donations go to Julia's house hospice. Lost the plot 🤪

Life has been crazy busy lately but I enjoyed the colours bought by the weekend sunshine and blue skies. The beach huts at Hill Head make for a lovely walk. The plots aren't cheap either but I'm hoping this space will be filled with a brightly coloured hut soon...

In Indigenous art, the kingfisher represents the promise of abundance, love, prosperity, and new warmth. Sounds like a good image for new year! Where have you spotted a kingfisher?

One shot passed me in a flash of colour near Leatherhead in Surrey. More recently I've seen one through a telescope lense after a conversation with a Solent bird ranger on the river hamble.
