Interesting being on the other side when I'm usually the one treating patients.

Three weeks post op having had my Right Thumb Replacement Surgery

So far so good but a bit of a challenge during a heatwave. And lots learned!
Lots of bruising
Reading lots of fiction ( unusual for me ) - The Nightingale broke me! 😭So good!
Glad I bought my disability cutlery preop - eating with one hand is a bit tricky but getting there! And very grateful for a husband who cooks well.
Embracing the curl as it will be a while before I can blow-dry my hair 😂
Being good and doing my exercises.
Can't use my camera as yet so using my phone and still noticing interesting light and moments during the day.
Can't drive so also grateful for Wimbledon and the World Cup to entertain me!

I'll be out of action for a while soon, having to hang up my camera for a few months post surgery which I'm getting a wee bit nervous about - yikes!

Playing with this alstroemeria and a prism at the weekend to "just see what appears" reminded me of my "why" in photography. A creative outlet, that helps me notice life a bit more and then appreciate the ordinary, in all it's glorious details.

Now to get my creative hat on to see how I can do things a little bit differently in the coming weeks - there's always some way to pivot ❤️

On a recent visit to Ireland I had the absolute pleasure of working with Cristina of to capture some portraits and headshots on the beautiful beaches of Skerries in Ireland.

Photographers can get nervous when it's a rainy day but equally when it's a very bright sunny day with the fear of harsh light and shadows. But with a few tips and playing with positions we managed to create some beautiful images of Cristina at work. A lovely relaxed morning, without any pressure that turned into a fun session!
Inspired me to get my yoga mat out soon too 🩵
