Before every flight, we conduct a a extensive pre-flight inspection of UAV and walk the entire flight area to check for any hazards such as trees, wires or obstructions. We require land /property owners permission for all flightsAll personal involved in the project and bystanders are all given a safety briefing. We reserve the right to refuse a mission based on safety concerns.

A bit of impressive ship handling on the River Mersey 🚢

Four cruise ships, four very impressive manoeuvres as they make their approach to Liverpool

What looks from the shore like a bit of a “handbrake turn” is actually a carefully controlled pivot turn, with the bridge team and pilot working with the vessel’s propulsion, rudder and thrusters to bring the ship around in a confined area.

Watching several thousand tonnes of ship being turned with such precision really puts into perspective the skill, experience and local knowledge involved in marine pilotage.

A great example of the sort of ship-handling that often goes unnoticed by the passengers — but is fascinating to watch from the riverbank.
