All set up ready for a newborn shoot this morning 🐻
Edit: Unfortunately, after spending around 90 minutes this morning emptying my husband's office (which doubles as my studio at weekends), cleaning, preparing, and setting up this gorgeous photoshoot set, the client booked in for today simply didn't show up and didn't make contact.
This is a reminder that behind every small business is a whole family investing their time and effort.
As many of you know, I have a 10-month-old daughter. Weekend shoots mean giving up valuable family time, as my husband works Monday to Friday. Before every session, we make sure the house is clean and ready, and often my husband and little girl head out for the duration of the shoot so I can provide a professional experience for my clients.
This morning, we dedicated our Saturday to preparing for a session that never happened. No message, no cancellation, and no opportunity to offer the slot to someone else.
Thankfully, I've been able to make the most of the beautiful setup by taking some lovely photographs of my little girl, and I also have a wonderful regular client visiting this afternoon, so our hard work hasn't gone completely to waste.
I completely understand that emergencies happen and plans can change. All I ask is that if you're unable to attend a session, please let me know as soon as possible. A quick message goes a long way and shows respect for the time and effort that goes into running a small business.
