Some photographs matter more than others.

Brody had been part of this family long before the children came along, and from the moment they did, he had been completely devoted to them.

When they approached me, the family had one thing in mind. All of them together, captured exactly as they were.

These are the images that end up on walls for decades. The ones that become more precious with every year that passes.

The family absolutely loved their portraits, and these remain some of my personal favourites.

This is Pepsi, and honestly, this photo instantly made me smile—and it continues to do so every time I see it.

Is Pepsi grinning? Those ears mid-bounce and the sheer joy of a dog doing what they love most—it’s moments like this that make what I do so special.

When clients invest in photography, it’s about more than just capturing how their dog looks. It’s about capturing their personality, their quirks, and, most importantly, how they make you feel.

Clients tell me that the photographs we create together make them feel something every time they walk past them on the wall. Sometimes it’s a smile, sometimes a tear of joy, and other times, a deep sense of pride.

That’s the magic of photography—it transforms fleeting moments into something timeless and full of emotion.

What do you love most about your dog? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your stories.

Happy New Year from John Cooper Pet Photography! 🎉🐾

We're so excited to start 2025 with more outdoor adventures, capturing the energy, personality, and charm of your brilliant dogs.

This shot taken in Plantsbrook, Sutton Park, really sums up what I love about photographing dogs outdoors. These sessions aren’t just about photos—they’re about celebrating your dog and the things they love doing most.

What’s your favourite outdoor memory with your dog from last year? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear!

Back in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, I was talking to a lady who was desperate to have her dog photographed.

She would get really excited about it then all of a sudden the enthusiasm would drain away. Concerned, I asked, "You're worried about something aren't you?"

Blushing slightly, she said, "I'm worried about my dog running off and approaching other people. I don't want to have to run after him and risk contact with people."

I realised immediately that she was worried about the social distancing rules.

"I totally understand but we can just keep your dog on the lead and photoshop it out afterward" I said.

Smiling, her enthusiasm instantly returned. I quickly explained the process and she booked a session straight away, allowing us to create the photographs that she'd always wanted.

Keeping your dog on a lead while we photograph them is now very common. If I told you that every single photograph in this collage originally had Enzo on the lead would you believe me? It's true, even the running ones!
