This time we move to something a little more ‘edgy’ from Simon () who stumbled across Olga who was relaxing in the back streets of east London (as we all so often do). This also got a 10/10.

This breathtaking image from South America by earned top marks in our latest Camera Club Colour Competition — and it’s easy to see why 📸👏

The dramatic mountain backdrop, sweeping landscape, and perfectly placed train combine to create an image full of atmosphere, scale, and adventure. The light across the mountains and valley adds incredible depth and mood, making this a truly standout photograph.

A well-deserved result for an outstanding capture — congratulations! 🏆

Another outstanding image awarded a perfect 10/10 in last night’s Open Colour Round (2).

This beautifully crafted portrait by Bill Metson draws the viewer into a quiet, reflective moment, rich with character and atmosphere. The careful lighting, authentic period styling, and subtle expression create a timeless quality reminiscent of classical portrait painting.

A superb example of storytelling through portraiture, with every detail contributing to the mood and narrative of the scene. Congratulations to Bill Metson on a deserved top score and a memorable image from the evening.

“Whisper of Her Leaving” by Julie Hawton

A mesmerising image from last night’s Open Colour Round (2), awarded a perfect 10/10.

With its flowing movement, rich crimson palette, and dreamlike softness, the photograph evokes a powerful sense of memory, presence, and disappearance — holding emotion and atmosphere beautifully within a single frame.

A stunning example of fine art photography and visual storytelling. Congratulations to Julie Hawton on a standout image and top score of the evening.

(And yes the IG editor used AI to generate the caption so there wasn’t the usual depth of dry wit and cutting edge humour)
