The Smart Donkey 🫏😂

A farmer bought a donkey that refused to work.

Farmer: “Why won’t you carry the bags?”

Donkey: “I’m saving my energy.”

The farmer shrugged and loaded the bags onto his horse instead.

The next day, the horse called in sick.

The farmer smiled at the donkey and said, “Great! Now you get to carry both your bags and the horse’s!”

The donkey sighed and muttered,

“I should’ve worked yesterday… promotions are dangerous!” 😆

Moral: Laziness often creates more work later!

A Perfect Morning
It starts before the alarm. Just light.
Sun slips through the linen curtains and lands right on the nightstand — two mugs steaming, still untouched. No rush. The kind of quiet where you can hear dust in the sunbeams. You stay in that warm tangle of blankets a little longer than you should, because the world outside hasn't started yet, and this one is already perfect.
Then the second chapter.
You leave the coffee half-finished, grab a hand, and walk. The Perth beach is cool under your feet, the water glassy and low. Sunrise turns everything pink-gold and you leave the only footprints for a while. No phones, no plans — just the tide coming in slow and the feeling that you have all day.
That's the whole perfect morning. Warm inside, wide open outside.

# # # The Borrow

2:47am. You couldn't sleep, so you went to the old State Library. Except you didn't remember deciding to go.

The night guard nodded like he knew you. "Back again?"

"I've never been here at night," you said.

He smiled. "That's what you said last time."

He led you to the basement. One desk, one lamp, one book waiting open. Your name was already written on the checkout card. Over and over. Same date. Today.

The book was titled *What You Forgot To Do Tomorrow.*

You flipped it open. First line:

*You were supposed to wake up at 3:00am and go home. You didn't. That's why you're stuck.*

You checked your phone. 2:59am.

The guard whispered, "You have 60 seconds to leave before it resets."

You ran. Up the stairs, out the glass doors, into the cold Hay Street air. You didn't look back.

You got home at 3:04am. Safe. You fell asleep instantly.

You woke up at 2:47am.

And you couldn't sleep, so you went to the old State Library.
