Cut off from the mainland twice a day, Cramond island is accessed by a causeway protected by anti-submarine measures. The island along with other inches (islands - it derives from the Gaelic name for island) formed the defences of the Firth of Forth during the 2 world wars. A fascinating place. We plan to go back to do a proper video at some point

Today was an incredible day of adventure and filming as we discovered Pitcur Castle and Souterrain. Despite being geographically close, these two sites are worlds apart. We're looking forward to sharing these videos soon. Please like and subscribe to our channel for updates.

In 1322 during the wars of independence, Robert the Bruce, good sir James and a fair few of their mates raided into the north of England. Even into the suburbs of the city of York itself. Today I followed their footsteps and took a wee jaunt (sans army). Despite being in England it was an important site for the wars as it was a major staging point for heading towards Berwick to cross the border following the east coast so that troops could be resupplied easily by ship.
