Standing at the end of the world and somehow that still wasn’t the most surreal part of the day. Turns out Ushuaia comes with penguins close-by!

✈️How to get there
Fly into Malvinas Argentinas Airport (USH)… there are regular domestic flights from Buenos Aires, which takes around 3.5 hours.

Alternatively, I have an overland route from Puerto Natales all the way down to Ushuaia that barely anyone will have done 👀 drop a comment if you want me to share it.

To reach the penguins specifically I would book into a tour near the harbour in Ushuaia. We went with

🎒What to pack
— A very warm coat. The wind off the Beagle Channel is not messing around.
— Waterproof layers
— Sturdy walking shoes or boots (it gets muddy around the colony)
— A camera with a zoom lens .. you stay a respectful distance from the penguins so a 200mm+ will serve you well
— A wide angle too if you have it, because the landscape is ridiculous and you’ll want to capture it!
— More memory cards than you think you need

🐧Best time to visit is November to March for the penguin season.

I would like to nominate this as the best vending machine of all time. It’s located in shop in North Berwick, Scotland and it is 100% worth the visit. 🥳🖼️🎶

London to Edinburgh. I LOVED IT. It was only £35 (depends on date/time) and took 4 1/2 hours! I preferred this to flying as over all its quicker, you don’t have to check luggage and usually cheaper! Have you tried Lumo? What did you think??

Let’s step outside 👣 (in Argentina 🫶🏼)

One of my favourite places in the world (which is a question people always ask me!) is Argentina. Don’t get me wrong, there are more places, but Argentina has definitely stuck with me. Mainly due to the sheer amount of stunning views and nature. I mean COME ON. Look at these views!

Little throwback to van life in Australia 🚐

This is something I’ve always wanted to do more of. So far I’ve tried it in Australia and a Scotland and I am addicted. Especially in cooler climates as it is SO cosy when you can just hop in the back and make a cup of teaaaaa ☕️

What’s your thoughts? Would love to hear from people who’ve tried it and where! 🚐

I’ll let you in on a secret…

This spot is beautiful and you can head here to see the world’s biggest sea lions - Steller Sea Lions. ⚠️ warning… they are super smelly 🤣 it was pretty hard to contend with but well worth it. 🦭🐟 The noises they make too are so cool, they’re so loud - we could actually hear them from@our bedroom a few roads away!

It’s great to walk around Cowichan Bay, pop in the local restaurants and shops and then stop by to watch them. I mean, the backdrop is also STUNNING with the mountains behind. Seriously, such a must-visit stop if you visit Vancouver Island.

HOWEVER, let me caveat by saying… only visit with the upmost respect for the community and the wildlife please.

• keep your distance
• use a zoom lens and no flash for photography
• leave no trace
• don’t crowd
