May, you were a good one 🫶

First off it's my birthday month (shout-out to my fellow ta**us ♉), so there were celebrations, as well as beach days, paddle boarding adventures, a week away in Jersey with the van, BBQs with friends, bonfire evenings, hammock naps and plenty of moments that made me slow down and appreciate the little things (isn't this what life is all about after all?)

There was a healthy dose of work, projects and editing in there too, but for once, life felt really well balanced.

Time to recharge, time with people I love, and time doing things that bring me joy 💕

I'm excited to see what June has in store, it will be a busy one as wedding season is in full swing, but I know it'll be a good one too!

What does a productive morning actually look like as a professional photographer? ☕📸

Spoiler: it’s not just taking photos.

Most mornings include a mix of replying to client enquiries, editing galleries, planning content, location scouting, admin, coffee breaks in the garden, and trying to squeeze in a little calm before the next shoot.

Running a photography business means wearing a lot of hats: photographer, editor, marketer, planner, etc!

As much as I love the creative side of photography, I also love creating a slower lifestyle around it too and have worked so hard to find a healthy work life balance in the last couple of years ✨

I absolutely LOVE capturing yoga, fitness & wellness retreats 🫶

It's not just the movement (which I usually naturally gravitate towards), but everything around it: the setting, the little rituals, the connection, the energy, the escapism, and the joy guests feel.

I’ve been so lucky to photograph retreats across the UK, France and Spain, and every time it feels like stepping into something really special and unique ✨

It’s those in-between moments, the atmosphere, the way it all feels… that I’m always drawn to capturing.

If there's one thing I can tell you about capturing weddings for +10 years, it's that every wedding venue has hidden gems, you just need the right photographer to notice them ✨

When I arrive at the venue, I always do a mini location scout to make sure we’re making the most of every beautiful detail, pockets of light, florals, textures and spaces.

I’m completely OBSESSED with flowers, so if there are blooms at your venue, you can guarantee I’ll spot them, get giddy about them, and find a way to weave them into your photos for that gorgeous timeless editorial feel!

These are outtakes from a summer wedding I shot in France for & .jar, and I could not get over the hydrangeas, they were the perfect backdrop for our couples photos 🩷
