I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately.

​Truth is, I hit a bit of a wall with the "social media" side of things. Sometimes the constant scrolling and the pressure to 'post' can drain the energy out of the very thing you love. I needed to step away from the screen, put the phone in my pocket, and just get back into the wild for a while.
​And there is no better place to recharge than Wastwater. 🏔️

​This is Freya. She doesn’t care about algorithms or engagement—she just cares about the scent on the wind and the stillness of the lake. Getting back behind the lens to capture her in this light reminded me why I started Wilderness and Whiskers in the first place.

​It’s about those raw, quiet moments where it’s just you, your dog, and the fells.

After being rudely awoken this morning at 3am by a motorbike racing up and down Abbey Road, we decided to head out at 5am to try and catch a sunrise. A long shot this time of the year I know, but still a beautiful morning all in all. Nice to get some early morning fresh air 🐾❤️

“When the photoshoot is that good, you refuse to go home.” 🐾

This was right at the end of my shoot with the beautiful Lupin. The treats were flowing, the fun was still going, and he had absolutely no interest in heading back to the car. Moments like this are my favourite — unplanned, natural, and full of personality.

This is exactly what sets my sessions apart. I let dogs be dogs. There’s no rushing, no forcing poses, and no pressure. I work at their pace so they can relax, feel comfortable, and truly be themselves. That’s when their real personality shines through in every image.
