Trewandra Model Village, Tideford

GRM: 6281

Just came across this photo from 2023 when exploring Cornish Green lanes. We rode this uUCR and came across this Model village that had been built along the lane. Definitely one of the most unexpected finds to date. An amazing amount of work and detail has gone into it!

Ashes Road, Shute
GRM:5222

The old road from Shute across to Kilmington. Rocky Climb up from Shute. Some big holes have recently been filled in with blocks and soil to make it easier. Very popular with Dog walkers so take care.

Evening Ride in East Devon. Only 34 miles over towards Chard and Back.
Nights are drawing in quick so there won’t be many more chances this year. LED Headlight is a great upgrade 👌🏻

Lidburn Hill, Tedburn St Mary

GRM:5076

Short Lane just outside Tedburn St Mary.

Southwest Estate Maintenance SWEM Have just completed some Surface and drainage repairs here so thought it was rude not to try it out. Great job done as this always used to become very boggy in the Winter.

Oxham Lane, Romansleigh

GRM:4882

Earlier this Month there was no trouble with the Stream crossing here. We have tried this in the winter before and it has been impassable. At least with this video it gives you and idea of the shallowest route. There is a sign off the main Road saying "To Public Footpath" This is only directing walkers to the fact there is a small Footpath which bypasses the Stream and these have to be signposted from the nearest Tarmac road. These signs have caused confusion between users in the past.

Batsworthy Lane, Creacombe

GRM:14952

Lane passes through a busy Farm so take care and leave all gates as you find them. Stick close to hedge down through the field through a Ford that can get Deep! Then along a tree lined lane to the exit gate. A really nice lane one of my favourites in the area 👌🏻

Devon Coast to Coast Day 2

The Return trip.

Due to the great response I had with this I’ve created a return route.

I have also created a specific Group with the GPX files uploaded in it as a few people seems to have trouble downloading from Outdoor active. Please use the group to report any route issues or just share photos and stories of your trip!

A few very keen Riders have already given the day 1 route a go and given feedback which is great.

Watery Lane, Way Village

GRM:5041

A lane that has seen vast improvements recently. It used to be quite tricky with a rocky river section but this has been piped underground and the lane is easy to ride on any bike. You will ride this the other way on the Devon Coast to Coast route.

Hayne Lane (Fig Tree Farm) Butterleigh

GRM:5166

Riding here uphill from North to South. This lane sees a lot of surface water run off that exposes the underlying rock. Always a tricky climb and a good place for a rest at the top!

Armourwood Lane, Thorverton

GRM:5182

Starting from the Southern end here. Along a hard track with great views over the Exe valley to the right. Drop down right through a gate into a tighter lane before riding across an open field. Through a Ford and continue up the field to a gate onto the road. Gets very wet in the winter in the field. I have added some old mapping at the end of video showing it was originally a hedged lane for the entire route. Hedges have been removed and fields enlarged at some point but the highway rights still remain
