Humpbacks in the harbour! 🐋

Whale watching just outside Reykjavik harbour, so lucky to have been able to see these majestic creatures feeding on such a calm day! A couple minke whales out there too, amongst what was mostly a humpback turn out ⛴️

Ancient technology problems aside, I’m pretty happy with how the rest of this reel turned out! 😁

1. Favourite photo from boom flames, flags, (gun) fingers🫶
2. just a really well lit crisp portrait of my beautiful model
3. Origin stage in all its glory
4. Possibly taken at the same time as photo 1 but clearly the bass got too much to handle making for a knarly slow shutter shot
5. Over exposed loyle carner set but the sky and stage looked nice
6. Grand central
7. The huge scale of boomtown

My first 35mm reel! 🎞️

I knew I wanted to take some photos at boomtown but obviously didn’t want to take any expensive camera gear with me, so purchased a retro canon sure shot point and shoot📷

Like with anything, your first time will never be your best. My first 6/7 shots went smoothly, until my camera misfired and the film reeled back in on itself. ☠️ Using the limited resources I had available to me at a festival, I managed to salvage the rest of the film by jamming a wooden spoon (that I’d later use for a pot noodle) into the reel. This did end up creating a light leak on some of the film and create some pretty funky double exposures but this made it even more exciting when the final results came back🤟

Hopefully my next reel will go more smoothly😅

Views from Lundy island 🦭🌊

A wet and windy first time visit to the island I’ve so often seen standing from the shore, but a welcomed adventure nonetheless! 📍

Fun fact : the Icelandic word for puffin is lundi, essentially naming it puffin island! 🐦 unfortunately tho there were no puffins over there at this time of the year but at least this gives me an excuse to go back when the weathers warmer☀️

While travelling around the golden circle, our tour guide Howser (aka the most Icelandic looking man about) took us to a hidden spot most wouldn’t get to visit.

We stopped in the middle of nowhere, frosty grasslands and mountains as far as the eye could see apart from the collection of rustic buildings in front of us. Howser had led us to a friend’s house, a sculptor, and wanted to show off his cool artwork! And just to add to this wacky place, behind Howser in the 1st image is the smallest church in Iceland and people have actually had weddings in this garden shed 💒🇮🇸

*the last pic wtfff was so strange seeing this in the middle of nowhere!!
