Tyn y Cornel, Tal-y-llyn — Claire & Dewi

Mid August weddings in Eryri take some beating.

Congratulations to Claire and Dewi, who tied the knot at Tyn y Cornel Hotel on the shore of Tal-y-llyn Lake (Llyn Mwyngil), right at the foot of Cadair Idris.
A wonderfully relaxed day, with the ceremony held at the hotel itself. Between the celebrations we slipped away into the foothills of Cadair Idris to capture a few Signature Portraits, with the lake and mountains doing what they do best.

Yesterday we were welcomed to Nant Clwyd y Dre in Ruthin as part of the Wedding Club Network The Wedding Club Network .

A Grade I listed timber-framed town house with a core dating back to 1435, it is recognised as one of the oldest of its kind in Wales. It makes a truly beautiful setting for intimate weddings and ceremonies. Think period rooms full of character, gardens looking out towards the Clwydian hills, and centuries of history in every beam.

The house is licensed for civil marriages and civil partnerships, with several rooms and garden spaces to choose from. If you are planning something small, atmospheric and steeped in Welsh history, this one is well worth a look.

At the beginning of August I had the pleasure of photographing Yasmin and Tom's wedding on Anglesey, and it was a day that meant a great deal to me. I taught them both some years ago, so being trusted to photograph their wedding was a quiet privilege I held close throughout.

For their Signature portraits we were welcomed into Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, a two hundred acre estate tucked into a quiet valley above the Menai Straits, and one of North Wales' best kept secrets. Walled gardens, a river and waterfalls, and evening light falling exactly where you would hope. Thirty years of working across this landscape means I know the settings that turn a portrait into something that belongs in print, and how to reach them.

I am currently booking a small number of 2027 and 2028 weddings across Anglesey and North Wales.
