Why hire a food photographer?

Simple! People eat with their eyes first.
Good food photography isn’t about overdoing it, it’s just about showing your food as it really is.

Fresh, full of detail, and properly looked after. The kind of photos that make someone pause for a second in their scrolling and think, “that looks good.”
If you’ve put time and care into your food, it makes sense to show it the same way. It’s a small thing, but it can make a real difference📸

You may have noticed that there’s been a name change! We were Graham’s Food Photography, and now we are Maple & Grain Food Photography.

Why?

As I thought about stepping back into this, I wanted to rebrand and change things up. Graham’s Food Photography was okay. But it didn’t feel memorable, and didn’t stand out.

Maple is a nod to my own Canadian heritage, and Grain being one of the foundations of the food and beverage industry in England.

Please allow me to reintroduce myself.

I’m Ashlyn, a chef by trade, Canadian who now calls the Cotswolds home and mum of two. And I’m now looking to shift into food photography.

I graduated from Culinary Institute of Canada and spent years in both fine dining kitchens and pubs. So I see food a bit differently, it’s not just about how it looks, it’s understanding the blood, sweat and tears that went into creating a dish. The passion behind the plate.

This is a new direction for me! But I’m very excited to see where it takes me
