Photos of the now very famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and mountain Streap, an excellent Corbett high above and to the north of Glenfinnan village in Lochaber. Taken 2 years ago yesterday. Yesterday the weather in Lochaber was grey wet and windy instead!

10 years ago today the Cairngorms were wreathed in amazing powder snow beneath sun and blue skies during an inversion. Great conditions for a ski down into Coire Raibeirt.

A few photos from a Sunday stroll around Inchree near Fort William. Over the Corran Narrows to the village of Clovullin, sun descending down Loch Linnhe, in the woods, a wintry shower over Kentallen and the burn at Inchree next to the Vertical Descents hut.

Over Dwarwick Head from the village of Dunnet in Caithness lies Peedie Beach or Peedie Sands a lovely small beach on the west side of Dunnet Head. It’s a short but steep walk from the car park at Dwarwick Harbour at the west end of the village of Dunnet, but well worth the effort. Particularly for a lovely sunset.

It was grey in far north on Saturday. Climbed wee Beinn Ceannabeinne near Durness with my boy; there were ominous clouds over Ben Hope. Then late afternoon on beautiful Ceannabeinne beach and a flying visit to a dry Smoo Cave where the waterfall wasn’t flowing.
