If you’ve made it to the end of this little story, I thought it was only fair to properly introduce myself.

Hello, I’m Lauren.

I’m 31 years old, born on Valentine’s Day, and I’m a fiancée, a mum to two incredible children, a daughter, a book lover, a tea drinker, and the heart behind Lauren Lumen Photography.

Before photography, I spent seven years working in early years. Looking back, it makes perfect sense. I’ve always loved watching children discover the world, celebrating tiny milestones, and getting to know the families behind them.

Photography became another way of doing exactly that.

Then I became a mum.

Motherhood changed the way I see time. It taught me that a season can feel endless while you’re living it, yet somehow be over before you’ve realised it was passing.

One day my son fit perfectly in my arms. Now he’s almost as tall as my shoulder. My daughter is already leaving behind the baby I still feel like I only just met.
It made me realise that photographs aren’t really about pictures.

They’re about remembering.

The way your toddler reached for your hand.

The sleepy weight of your newborn on your chest.

The laugh that filled your kitchen.

The tiny details that quietly become the ones you miss the most.

Outside of photography, life is beautifully simple. Give me an autumn afternoon, a good book, a tea, cosy evenings at home, and a garden filled with chamomile flowers, and I’m exactly where I want to be.
Those are the moments that inspire me, because I believe the ordinary is never really ordinary.
It’s where life happens.

And that’s exactly why I photograph the way I do.

Not perfect poses.

Not forced smiles.

Just honest connection, quiet wonder, and the love that already exists between you.

Because one day, the little things won’t feel little anymore.

They’ll be your story.

There is a story motherhood writes upon us.

Not just in the memories we carry, but in the quiet changes we see reflected back in the mirror. The softened skin. The stretch marks. The scar. The body that became a home before it became itself again.

For too long, we’ve been taught that these are the parts to crop, cover or apologise for.

I don’t believe they need hiding.

I believe they deserve honouring.

Goldmarks is a personal project created for mothers who want to be seen, exactly as they are. No expectations. No pressure to look a certain way. Just honest, beautiful portraits that celebrate the story your body carries.

Because the most beautiful stories are written upon skin.

As part of this project, every Goldmarks session is completely complimentary.

There is no session fee, and every participant receives their full gallery of unedited photographs at no cost. There is no obligation to purchase anything afterwards. I simply want more women to have photographs that remind them of what they have given, what they have become, and how deeply they are loved.

I’ve always believed that light has a way of finding us.

So when I began designing my logo, I wanted it to be more than a name. I wanted it to reflect not only who I am, but the feeling behind everything I create. The warmth, the wonder, and the unique stories that inspire every session.

The sun arc is a reminder that every story begins somewhere. That every season changes. That even the simplest moments can be lit with something extraordinary.

The glint represents the fleeting moments I never want to miss. The tiny flashes of light, love and connection that so easily become the memories we treasure most.

And the gold?

It’s everything I hope you’ll feel when you look back at your photographs.

Warmth. Home. Wonder.
