Today was A M A Z I N G

My very first Warwick Buzz as host.

I was nervous. Properly nervous. The kind where you rehearse your opening line in the car and then completely forget it the moment you walk through the door.

But you know what happened?

The room did the thing that good rooms always do.

It just.......worked.

22 brilliant people. Real conversations. Introductions that might actually go somewhere. Business happening in the corner. Coffee going cold because nobody stopped talking long enough to drink it.

And I got to be in the middle of all of it.

Thank you to everyone who came. You made my first time as host feel like home.

Something I get asked a lot.

'What's actually different about working with you?'

Honest answer?

I make people feel safe.

Not comfortable in a vague, fluffy way. Actually safe. Safe enough to forget the camera exists. Safe enough to stop doing the face they think they're supposed to do and just.......be themselves.

And that's where the best photos are made.

Are you using your headshot in ALL the ways you can?

Profile photo (of course) - but not only on your socials, on WhatsApp, slack, zoom....

But there is more..... are you using your headshot for your business card?

When you go networking, you come home with all the cards....but say you meet three Mortgage Advisors....and they were all ladies but you forgot her name.

So now you have three cards from three Mortgage Advisors and you can't remember which one you want to call....

If their face was on their business card....

Problem solved....

My client thought he needed to look more "professional."

You know the look...

Serious face.Perfect posture.Not too much personality.

The problem?

That's not him.

He's confident, knowledgeable and brilliant at what he does.

But put him in front of a camera and suddenly the questions started...

"Am I sitting right?"

"What do I do with my hands?"

"Does this smile look weird?"

The more he thought about it, the more awkward he felt.

Then I told him something I tell all my clients:

"You don't need to look like a business owner. You already are one."

You don't need a different smile.You don't need a different laugh.You don't need a different version of yourself.

You just need permission to be you.

We chatted.We laughed.He relaxed.

And that's when the photos happened.

Not the polished, corporate version he thought he needed to be.

Just himself....

The same person you'd meet over a coffee. Friendly. Approachable. Knowledgeable. Genuine.

Because the best brand photos aren't about looking professional or you looking perfect....

They're about looking like someone people want to work with.

If being in front of the camera fills you with dread, I get it.

My job isn't just to take photos.

It's to help you see yourself the way everyone else already does.

What happened this month?

📸 Razzle Dazzle client session 2 of 4 - photographing the incredible and absolute joy of a human.

🎙️ Interviewed by University College London for research into nearest relative experience around mental health detention under the MH Act (that one hit different)

🎂 47th birthday. Long weekend. Far too much food, shopping, wine and elite-level people watching. Zero regrets.

📸 Lifestyle brand session for the fabulous in Leicester - walking Tropic customers through products, showcasing the ambassador journey, and most importantly, capturing Gail being completely and unapologetically her wonderful self. (Yes. Her dogs were absolutely involved. Obviously.) 🐾

And then somehow......I squeezed in even MORE.

What a bittersweet day yesterday was… 💛

Yesterday we said goodbye to as host of Warwick Buzz

Lisa-Jane has worked incredibly hard to grow this meeting into the vibrant, welcoming and thriving community it is today, so seeing her step away is truly bittersweet. I’m genuinely sad to see her go… but also incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be taking over as the new host of Warwick Business Buzz! 🎉

And what a meeting to step into…

The room was FULL of fabulous businesses, buzzing with conversation, connection and energy from the moment the doors opened. There were queues of visitors waiting to come in, with a wonderful mix of familiar faces and brand new ones.

Honestly, my heart is completely full.

I’m so excited to begin hosting from June and continue

building this incredible community together.
