Before ripping off any media from anyone, just have a think.. Reminiscent Imagery has said what we are all thinking and all of us media are in the same boat.. We have massive running costs, massive gear costs and most of all massive TIME cost. If I worked out my hourly rate i could guarantee its under £1 BUT we do it because we love it 🙌🏼

I might get some hate for this one but I feel like a light needs to be shining on this more.

All media types charge different things but most of us find it so hard to even charge at all. That might be from feeling unworthy or just not knowing our worth. Yet there is always someone disgusted at our pricing and some people think we’re rolling in it.

I thought I’d put my hands up and show you my earnings for this month *cringe* so not the done thing! 😂

You beautiful people helped me earn a crazy £1,105 which I’m immensely grateful for. But do you know how much actually stayed in my bank after expenses?

£420.26.

For the entire month.

Safe to say that works out waaaaaaay under minimum wage for seriously hard graft, blood sweat and tears 😅

Most small business owners will understand and especially travelling media people. Once you factor in travel expenses, the odd hotel stay because it’s so far from home, entry fees (yep, a LOT of places don’t let us in for free even though we’re working), monthly legal costs like public liability insurance, software costs we need to edit your photos and videos, and one off things we need occasionally like a filter for our lens - it all adds up super fast 🤯

In my case, that doesn’t even factor in the monthly loan repayment that I needed to buy all the gear in the first place to start my business 😂

We’re not just in this for the money. We’re in this for you and for our love and passion of the sport and doing what we love to do.

Be kind to your media people. We’re struggling 😅 but we love you big time 🫶🏼
