Hiking Càrn an Tuirc to Loch Kander in the Cairngorms, the best view came after the munro summit.

We climbed this munro and headed over the plateau to Loch Kander, where the ground has fallen/eroded away to reveal the small loch.

Low cloud, lots of heather and no rain helped us enjoy this one. Seeing a couple of hares and a few red deer only made it more enjoyable.

This munro is like a neverending stairmaster but very worth it.

There’s a small car park for this walk just north of the Glenshee car park.

Autumn is starting to creep into the trees 🍂

I spent Saturday wandering through the woods near Dunkeld, following the river Braan towards Ossians Hall and Black Linn Falls. A fantastic scenic walk if you’re ever in the area.

The forest hasn’t quite reached its peak autumnal offering, there’s plenty green still hanging on, but the oranges and reds are starting to make an appearance. I think in a couple of weeks this place will look completely different!

Neist point, Skyes most westerly point. Also one of Skyes most photographed areas.

The lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula was built in 1909, and has stood there since.

You’d be suprised at the amount of wildlife in and around Braemar.

Swipe through for some of Braemars wild residents, along with a few facts about them.

Over a few days I took pictures of animals/insects all sharing the same landscape. Everything from Deer, dragonflies, rabbits, lizards, bees and birds.

I learnt a few things about each of these species putting this together, and I hope you do too.

Have you seen any of these animals/insects? Where about?

Up and over Carn an Tuirc to have a gander at Loch Kander.

You get to the car park and it couldnt be easier to see where the top of the munro is. Pretty much a straight line to the summit and again towards Loch Kander, out and back kinda stuff.

Steep one though, like being on a step machine for 90mins, proper quad burner.

We did this because I fancied seeing Loch Kander, but didnt fancy the 18km round trip from the Loch Callater car park. So we went for the shorter but more strenuous route.

Paid off though, views were class.

New installation; ‘Divers’, by .hanson at Save Bon Accord Baths

Open to all for Aberdeens doors open weekend this weekend: Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 12noon to 4pm.
The installation is excellent, I absolutely love the colours. Spoke to Tod as well, he was talking about the small issue of actually placing all the paper in the pool, he’s been at it for over two weeks!

Also reminded of how beautiful the Bon Accord baths building is, would be brilliant if we saw it restored to its former glory!

Reaching the viewpoint at Old Man of Storr is excellent in any weather I assume, but we just made it to the viewpoint about 5mins before the fog and drizzle rolled in. We got a few pics and decided to head back.
Incredible sights on the way back between the viewpoint and the Storr, made that little more atmospheric with the weather.
I would love to come back here when the landscape is covered in snow!
