Alex signed 30 limited edition prints of his first ascent in Buoux, France and every single euro from sales goes directly to Climbing for a Reason, an NGO using climbing as a tool for change in Angola and many other places.

On 3 and 4 April 2026, Fay Manners and Ella Wright made the first ascent of La Muse de Trient on the NNE face of Tête de Biselx in the Mont Blanc massif, a 250-metre mixed route at M7+, climbed without bolts on natural protection alone. No all-female team had previously opened a route on this face.

Not gonna lie, it was cold and windy. But this rugged landscape has had me hooked since first visit in 2024.

This time around, it was all about sharpening my own mixed climbing skills with Matthew Pavitt went easy on me day one, we kicked things off with Fall-Out Corner VI/7 on Coire an Lochain. Feeling warmed up, we went all in on day two, with Douglas Gibson via the right fork (Tim’s St**fy Pillar) in Lochnagar. One super dry, unprotectable pitch made for a bold lead. All nicely wrapped up by day three, shooting day on The Vicar VIII.
