The best camera is the one you have with you. I’m trying to get in to the habit of chucking my camera in my bag when i’m off doing something fun for me. I enjoy thinking about different angles and light which just so happens to be a distraction to hiking up couloirs.

Once in a blue moon I get to shoot in the homelands. A lot of laughing and minimal midges. So safe to say it was a good time! It was a pleasure to meet and on their local trails! Sticking a mic to neil 12 hours a day you know you’re going to get everything to make one hell of an entertaining film and/or some good blackmail material.

Norway won the award for the wettest shoot of the year (this far). Days of torrential rain. The kind of rain when you are out in full waterproofs for 1 minute you are soaked. It turned out this made the film/story A LOT more compelling. We spent the final night in a cabin in the middle of nowhere the morning before our flight out, the weather cleared and with a 5am start we woke up to everything covered in ice and an incredible sunrise! Norway tested us! But the prize was worth the long wet hikes. Thank you for the hospitality!

“Road trip” with a twist. The company you work for takes you to Rome and tells you to make your way to Florence over the next 72 hours by running, cycling or whatever adventurous way you want. This is what does for their staff gatherings. It is also a great way to test the app, fine tune features and come up with new ideas. (And have a good time with colleagues).
