For the celebration of History Month 2019, with the theme "Kasaysayan: Bahagi ng Ating Nakaraan, Gabay sa Kinabukasan (History: Part of our Past, Guide to our Future)", NHCP Museums - Museum of Philippine Social History, together with the Bamban Historical Society - Bamban History Museum and WWII Exhibit, and the Katipunan da ring Talasaliksik at Talaturung Kapampangan, presents:
"The Battles of Angeles and the Accounts of the Philippine-American War in Pampanga; August to November 3, 1899"
To be presented by Mr. Rhonie Cauguiran Dela Cruz, curator of the Bamban History Museum and WWII Exhibit, and founder and president of the Bamban Historical Society, and Mr. David Metherell, an American War Historian and a retired United States Air Force. By using primary sources from Filipino and American archives, this lecture will particularly look through the battle and engagements in Calulut, the Bacolor-Sta. Rita-Guagua areas, Floridablanca, Angeles and Porac; the encounters along the San Fernando-Angeles road and the Filipino resistance on the Western Pampanga region as an impression of the struggle of our people during that period in history, from both American and Filipino perspectives.
As part of the activity, replicas of maps where battles happened will also be exhibited.
This activity will be on 17 August 2019, Saturday, 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM (GMT +8), at the Museum of Philippine Social History - Audio Visual Room (1st Level).
