LE SAMEDI 13/6 le public est venu nombreux pour l’ouverture de l’exposition de mes photos de nature en milieu bâti et écouter la présentation donné par Christian Crépeau d’ECCLA. Une beau moment d’échanges et de rencontres, grace à la bienveillance de Corinne Revel Ville de Carcassonne …L’exposition reste ouverte

Exhibition season is open! A snapshot of a lovely day of sisterly support at the opening of the exhibition of my photos of nature in an urban setting yesterday in Carcassonne. In the magnificent setting of the Belle Époque building a large audience gathered to celebrate World Environment Day with us and hear Christian Crepeau of ECCLA speak about the environmental issues -and solutions -in the Aude department.

🗼Ca y est, le printemps, les oiseaux, et la saison des expositions de retour...
Je suis ravie d'être invitée par et à Carcassonne pour exposer une version 2026 de «Des ailes et des Pierres».
C'est une exposition de mes photographies des oiseaux de Carcassonne, de ses remparts et de ses paysages urbains. Voici quelques clichés des oiseaux nicheurs que j'observe cette saison 🦜
À 10h30, une présentation et discussion sur les enjeux environnementaux du département avec Christian Crépeau d'ECCLA, ainsi que sur la face cachée de la nature dans la vie urbaine avec moi-même, seront suivies d'un brunch, offert par les Jardins d'Arcadie.
Cet événement célèbre la Journée mondiale de l'environnement et s'inscrit également dans le cadre d'une journée portes ouvertes – une occasion de visiter le magnifique bâtiment Belle Époque des Jardins d'Arcadie

🗽I've been working away and not posting much, but with the birds and the spring, here comes exhibition season again!
I'm delighted to be invited by and in Carcassonne to exhibit a 2026 version of "Des ailes et des Pierres".
This is a show of my photography of the birdlife in the Carcassonne area, its ancient walls, and urban cityscapes. Here are some of the nesting birds I've been keeping an eye on 🦜
At 10.30am, a presentation and discussion of local environmental issues with Christian Crépeau of ECCLA, and on the hidden natural side of urban life with me, will be followed by a brunch, kindly offered by the Jardins d'Arcadie.
The event celebrates World Environment Day and is also an opportunity to visit the magnificent Belle Epoque Jardins d'Arcadie building

Some say cities aren't for wildlife. Denmark disagrees. They're putting wildflower islands in the harbor and letting nature move in.

Copenhagen has introduced floating wildflower islands in its harbor as part of an effort to bring nature back into urban waterways. The project, known as "Copenhagen Islands" or "Parkipelago," was developed by Australian artist and architect Marshall Blecher and the Danish studio Fokstrot. The platforms are built from recycled materials and planted with wildflowers, grasses, and small trees.

The islands serve as habitats for birds, bees, insects, and marine life in an area that was previously open water surrounded by concrete. They float freely in the harbor and are accessible to kayakers and swimmers. Some are used by locals for picnics, while others are left untouched to serve as wildlife sanctuaries.

The project has drawn international attention as an example of how cities can integrate biodiversity into existing infrastructure without taking up land. Several of the islands have already attracted nesting birds and pollinators, proving that even small interventions can create meaningful change in urban ecosystems.
