The past months have been a little busier than I would have hoped, and unfortunately much of my time has been spent on things other than photography and being outdoors. Sometimes life simply fills the calendar faster than expected.
But now midsummer is getting closer here in the north, and for me that also means it is almost time to hit the road again. The endless bright nights of the north, the Arctic coast, and the incredible landscapes of the far north are waiting. I can hardly wait to return to those places where the light never truly disappears and every moment feels a little different.
My plans will also take me back to an area that has become very special to me — Kuusamo, with its forests, rivers, and countless beautiful natural locations. Perhaps I will meet an old acquaintance along the way… who knows.
This image is a reminder of why these journeys matter. Wildlife and nature are not something we own — they are something we are lucky enough to witness. Every encounter is a privilege, and every landscape deserves our respect and protection.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week. Take time to enjoy nature, and remember how valuable it truly is.

A closer look at Misty Morning, photographed in Kuusamo, Finland, during a fog-filled autumn sunrise. This image received Honorable Mentions in both the Landscape and Nature categories at the 2026 International 1839 Awards.
I’m deeply grateful for this recognition. It is a wonderful source of inspiration and motivation as I continue my journey behind the camera and look forward to the adventures of another photography season.

I’m incredibly grateful to receive an Honorable Mention in the 2026 1839 Awards Color Photography Contest for my photograph “Misty Morning”, taken in Kuusamo, Finland, during a beautiful foggy autumn sunrise.
This recognition is both an honor and a great source of motivation for future adventures behind the camera. Thank you to the 1839 Awards and the jury for this encouragement as I head into another exciting summer of photography.

The nights of the northern summer are unlike any other. Even in the early hours, darkness never truly arrives, and the horizon glows softly as the sun begins another slow journey above the sea.
On this peaceful morning, I spent some time watching the waves roll gently onto the shore while the golden light spread across the water and wet sand. There was no rush, no destination—just the quiet rhythm of the sea and a chance to enjoy the calm that these endless summer nights bring.
Moments like these are a reminder that photography is often less about chasing images and more about being present, taking in the atmosphere, and appreciating the beauty of a place as it reveals itself.
Wishing everyone a great start to the week. I hope you find a moment to enjoy the magic of the northern midnight sun and the beautiful colors of summer.

Spring is usually my busiest time of the year, and lately that has meant spending more hours behind a computer than out in the landscape. Looking through old photographs, I realized how much I’ve missed those quiet mornings spent waiting for sunrise in the middle of nowhere.
There is something special about arriving long before dawn, finding a place to sit, pouring a cup of hot coffee, and simply watching the world wake up. No pressure to create anything. No expectations. Just mist drifting through the valleys, the first light touching the horizon, and enough silence to let your mind wander wherever it wants to go. Somehow, nature always seems to have a way of putting things back into perspective.
As I sit here today facing a list of images that still need editing for upcoming competitions, I can’t help but think that another morning like that might be exactly what I need. So perhaps I’ll pack my camera, fill the thermos, and head out for a while. Maybe I’ll find a new photograph. Maybe I won’t. Either way, time spent in places like this is never wasted.
Have a wonderful Saturday, and don’t forget to enjoy the incredible colors and light that early summer has to offer.

Mist flows like water
through the dark forests below,
covering the landscape
in pale golden light.
The night fades slowly,
the earth grows brighter,
and soon the rising sun
will paint the world awake again.

Summer is slowly approaching again, and in the North the nights never truly grow dark. The sun lingers above the horizon through the night, and the temperature differences between day and night often create these beautiful misty mornings filled with soft golden light. As the sun rises just slightly above the horizon, it paints the landscape with warm tones while layers of fog drift quietly through the forests and valleys.
This photograph reminds me exactly of those peaceful northern mornings — moments when time seems to slow down and nature quietly takes over everything around you. It’s one of the reasons I keep returning to the North year after year, and once again I’ll be heading there during the coming summer.
Besides landscape photography, I also create outdoor and lifestyle product photography in authentic northern environments. So if your company is looking for promotional images for hiking, outdoor, or adventure-related products photographed in real nature and real conditions, feel free to get in touch.
Until then, wishing everyone a relaxing and inspiring Saturday wherever you are.
