Having an injury ruin your plans is a horrible feeling. I was very worried that my sprained knee would not heal in time for my trail marathon. Luckily I managed to run the marathon without issues, but after the race I realised that my ankle started getting very painful.
It has been giving me a horrible time for three weeks. At first it was really painful to even walk on, but with persistent, daily rehab I'm now back to running ❤️
As a very active person it's mentally very difficult to deal with injuries. Taking it easy, staying stationary and dialing down the training definitely don't come easy. Especially when I'm enthusiastic about a sport or an activity I want to go all in.
While doing the rehab exercises I kept on motivating myself with the thought of running, hunting and hiking pain free.
So happy to have my ankle functioning well now, because soon it's time to pack the backpack and head to the backcountry for some moose hunting 😍
