HERE'S WHAT I PREPARED IN HONOR OF MY CITY... - PART 2

After all the vicissitudes I had to face on August 1st, I decided to try again!

My second attempt to photograph the supermoon along with the San Luca sanctuary occurred on August 30th.

So I went back to MOON CALCULATIONS and established the new position and the new time. I also went for an inspection to make sure I could park my car and that there were no branches up to my knees.

This time I was so prepared that I decided to promote the initiative and also involve a group of brave photographers in the expedition!

It was a success! This time there were no clouds, but I managed to capture an entire sequence of images showing the supermoon moving over the course of just a few minutes.

As a result… I thought to prepare a triptych!

That is, three images that respectively depict:
🌙 the moon when still partly hidden behind San Luca;
🌙 the moon when it came alongside San Luca; and
🌙 the moon at the moment it was already moving away.

The images are printed on photographic paper and are available in various formats starting from 18.90 euros (only for these days).

HERE'S WHAT I PREPARED IN HONOR OF MY HOMETOWN... - PART 1

You should know that last summer, while I was in Bologna, I had fun doing MOON CALCULATIONS! 🌙

By doing so I calculated the position and time in which I would be able to photograph the supermoon together with the sanctuary of San Luca (one of the main landmarks in Bologna).

My first attempt was on August 1st.

Here's what happened...

👉🏻 I arrived a bit last minute because I couldn't park (narrow road with side ditches).

👉🏻 The zipper on my camera backpack got jammed and I had to break everything (the moonlight could already be seen behind San Luca and I was still trying to get my camera out).

👉🏻 Furthermore, I couldn't stabilize my tripod because I was in the middle of a field and with branches up to my knees.

In short, if anyone had seen me they would have laughed at me... 😅

In front of me meanwhile, the cosmic alignment was taking place in all its splendor and a layer of dark clouds made the atmosphere even more incredible.

And I managed to capture that moment! 👏👏👏

The resulting image has a dramatic and very painterly feel and for this reason I decided to print it exclusively on canvas.

Hello everyone,

during the last months I have been busy working on a new project which is making me super happy! :)

Finally, I have started to teach a class of Post-Production & Fine Art Photography which has always been a little dream of mine.

I have been very busy to prepare all my classes and find brave students willing to spend 6 weeks studying with me. It has been a fantastic experience and, now that is almost over, I can't wait to start all over again with new students!

And.. Now that everything is up and running I will have some time again to dedicate to my photographic art! 😀
