Down time is an absolute luxury! One I don’t get as much as I would like. Running two businesses keeps me fairly busy and often when i do get a free afternoon or day i will be catching up on chores (cleaning, laundry, food shopping, admin or sleep) 😂
But i have learnt that taking time for yourself is a necessity and something you need to just schedule in. I took a day off a couple of weeks ago and zipped into london with a friend. It was lush and although almost everything on our to do, wish list was closed on a Monday (Note to self: Monday in london is like Sunday everywhere else) it meant we could just potter. Take an adventure, try new things and just walk around getting the creative juices going and finding inspiration in unlikely places.
So here are a list of things i love to do to relax…
⭐️Holiday (somewhere hot and with water near by) I’m off to Spain in a couple of weeks and i cannot wait🏖️
⭐️A Day trip whether its London or a drive to Brighton or even just an afternoon in a village in the Cotswold. Sometimes a trip to a gallery or museum can inspire too. I love an adventure!!!
⭐️Listen to music. I was bought a beautiful Crosby record play last year. Its beautiful and has totally got me into hunting for vinyl. I also love listening to old school jazz on the weekends. My dad got me into jazz from when i was little as did his father for him. 🎶
⭐️Swimming. I don’t do this one nearly enough as i would like to. Swimming for me is a great destress. Put your head down , no one can interrupt your thoughts and just go.
⭐️And finally watching old movies. This is definitely a daytime activity. Anything from the 30s to mid 90s is good, but my favourite era is 50s and 60s, some real iconic movies came out then.
