𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁: 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗺
Waseem Emam is a visual artist born in Cairo in 1981. He is a member of the Egyptian Photographic Society (EPS) and a member of the Arab Photographers Union (UAP). He supports the Taa Marbouta campaign, the largest campaign to empower Egyptian women. He has participated in local and international exhibitions, winning numerous awards and appreciations.
The conceptualism of Waseem Emam's artwork is mostly inspired by local societal reality with an oriental character and global women’s issues as well, these issues are carrying societal concepts in which women are discriminated against in society, and even force them to carry many burdens that hamper the development and keep them under a momentum of pressure. However, if Waseem Emam artwork in its appearance carries a kind of audacity and liberation, yet despite that, we can find he is always enthusiastic about addressing some of those societal problems that are kept silent under the pretext of shyness and society's customs and traditions.
In fact, his artwork encourages dialogue and discussion around women's rights and gender equality via always finding safe and solution passages within those walls that hit around the whole subject.

تعرف على الفنان: وسيم إمام
وسيم إمام فنان بصري من مواليد القاهرة عام 1981. وهو عضو في الجمعية المصرية للتصوير الفوتوغرافي (EPS) وعضو في اتحاد المصورين العرب (UAP) كما يدعم حملة "التاء مربوطة"، وهي أكبر حملة لتمكين المرأة المصرية. شارك في معارض محلية ودولية عديدة، ونال العديد من الجوائز والتقديرات.
تستمد أعمال وسيم إمام الفنية غالبًا من الواقع المجتمعي المحلي بطابع شرقي، إضافة إلى قضايا المرأة على مستوى عالمي. هذه القضايا تحمل مفاهيم اجتماعية تُميَّز فيها المرأة وتُحمَّل أعباءً كثيرة تُعيق التطور وتبقيها تحت وطأة ضغوط مستمرة. ورغم أن أعمال وسيم إمام تحمل في مظهرها جرأة وتحررًا، إلا أننا نجد أنه دائم الحماس لمعالجة بعض هذه المشكلات المجتمعية المسكوت عنها تحت ذرائع العادات والتقاليد.
في الحقيقة، تشجع أعماله على الحوار والنقاش حول حقوق المرأة والمساواة بين الجنسين، من خلال البحث الدائم عن مسارات آمنة وحلول داخل الجدران التي تحيط بهذه القضايا الشائكة.
