If you are interested in Scandinavian art, music, literature, design, fashion and architecture and like podcasts in English I HIGHLY recommend the podcast series Nordic Portraits by Australian Ben Catford. The podcasts are extremely well researched, intimate conversations between Ben Catford and many of the leading artists and creatives in the Nordics. There are 65 episodes so far with artists and creatives such as: Michael Kvium, Anders Trentemøller, Henrik Vibskov, Casper Christensen, Tal R., Jussi-Adler Olsen, Sharin Foo, Dorte Mandrup, Nina Persson, Mamma Andersson, Mikael Bertelsen, Jose Gonzales the list goes on ... and me. Give it a listen.

You don’t have to be a professional designer to appreciate visual balance and beauty.

I recently returned from Sharjah, UAE, where I had the great privilege of exhibiting my Black Sun, starling murmuration project, at Xposure 2025. The international photo festival is impressive both in its scale and professional ex*****on. It was wonderful to meet colleagues from all over the world exhibiting their projects from Documentary, to Fine Art and Conceptual photography. From wildlife, nature conservation, identity politics to war photography and everything in between. A lot of local and international guests came to see the exhibitions and it was a great week of learning and meaningful exchanges with people from many different cultures.

Learn all about the secrets of the starlings.

A version of the story will appear in the April 2025 issue of National Geographic magazine.

For centuries, researchers have pondered how starlings travel in those gorgeous shape-shifting clouds. The answers continue to surprise them.

At the Kumbh Mela, the holy men – sadhus – emerge from their isolation in ashrams and Himalayan caves, stepping into the chaos of the world’s largest gathering of faith. These ascetics have renounced all worldly ties—family, possessions, even their names—to dedicate themselves entirely to spiritual practice. Some live in silent meditation, others follow extreme rituals of endurance, and the Naga sadhus, covered in ash, embody an untamed, ancient path of devotion. For centuries, they have been the keepers of a way of life that defies time, living on the fringes of society yet holding a deep place in India’s spiritual fabric. Here, among the millions, they remain apart—symbols of a faith that demands everything.

Rest In Peace David Lynch🖤
One of my greatest inspirations has moved on.
I had the privilege of taking his portrait and spending a little time with him, in 2011. He was one of the kindest people I ever met. Thank you for the films, the books, the paintings and the music. For the mainstream and the avant garde, the light and the dark.
