Being on call is part of the work - and it’s not nothing.
From the moment we start working together, I’m not just present at your birth. I’m present before it, and after it too.
We meet during pregnancy - to talk, to prepare, to build trust. By the time labor begins, you already know me, and I already know you.
Then comes the on-call period. Weeks where I keep my phone close, where plans stay flexible, where I’m ready to drop everything and come to you. And in between? I’m still here - available on WhatsApp for questions, reassurance, or just to check in when something feels off.
After your baby is born, we don’t just say goodbye. We meet one more time - to close the birth together. To talk through what happened, how you felt, what surprised you. Because birth deserves to be processed, not just survived.
This is what doula support actually looks like. Not just hands at the birth - but a continuous thread of care, woven around one of the biggest moments of your life.
