✨ Proud to be part of The Eye, The Lens, The Story — the first all-photography exhibition at The CAMP Gallery in Miami!

It’s an honor to exhibit alongside such a powerful group of visual storytellers:
Xan Padron, Marisa S. White, Naomi White, Remijin Camping, Natalie Obermaier, Rosana Machado Rodriguez, Carol Erb — and myself, Alice de Kruijs.

Grateful to see my work on the walls of this beautiful new space and excited to share the stories behind each image.

The Eye, The Lens, The Story
Now on view at The CAMP Gallery

This marks our first exhibition dedicated entirely to photography — a visual journey through the eyes of eight remarkable artists: Xan Padron, Marisa S. White, Naomi White, Remijin Camping, Natalie Obermaier, Rosana Machado Rodriguez, Alice de Kruijs, and Carol Erb.

Divided into themes of landscape, architecture, portraiture, and object, the show explores what each artist chooses to see, capture, and reveal.

Through the lens, these photographers investigate moments that feel both fleeting and timeless — images that invite us to reconsider the present, and reflect on where we stand.

📍On view at The Contemporary Art Modern Project

🌿✨ Nieuw portret toegevoegd aan mijn serie Nature’s Way! ✨🌿

We visited RasKawintseb with Roots & Culture Travel . He is a well-known figure in Shashamane, Ethiopia, where he has become a symbol of devotion within the Rastafari community. Hailing originally from Trinidad and Tobago, he relocated to Ethiopia more than twenty years ago, driven by spiritual beliefs and a deep sense of ancestral return. A unique aspect of his life is his decision to forgo footwear entirely since arriving, a personal gesture of humility and reverence for what he sees as a sacred homeland.

Beyond his symbolic lifestyle, Ras Kawintseb is a multilingual artist and educator who uses music to convey his faith and engage with those around him. He has fully embraced life in Ethiopia, marrying a local woman and raising his children within the cultural fabric of the country.

Despite his long-term commitment to Ethiopian life, his legal status remains a complex issue. While the government has granted residency rights to Rastafarians under the classification of "Foreign Nationals of Ethiopian Origin," Ras Kawintseb has spoken openly about his wish to be officially recognized as a full citizen. He feels that this status doesn't fully reflect the depth of his dedication and contributions to the nation.
