“This photo made it into their WhatsApp profile picture… and honestly, that means a lot to me.

Every time I deliver a wedding gallery, I’m secretly waiting to see which image becomes THE image for my couple. The one they save, share, print, post, or choose to represent one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

And when Deniz chose this photo from their wedding at the beautiful as her profile picture, I was so incredibly happy. Because this is one of my personal favorites, too.

What makes this image even more special:
it was actually inspired by one of the reference photos Deniz & Felix shared with me before the wedding.

I always encourage my couples to send me their moodboards, Pinterest inspiration, or visual ideas beforehand. Not because I copy images one by one, but because it helps me understand what they are naturally drawn to emotionally and aesthetically.

And when I saw a photo similar to this in their inspiration board, I remember thinking:
“Please let us recreate this feeling in our own way.” ✨

Seeing it come to life so naturally on the wedding day felt incredibly rewarding.

There are places that feel almost unreal the moment you arrive and Villa Astor is one of them.

Perched above the sea in Sorrento, surrounded by lush gardens, historic architecture and the softest Mediterranean light, this villa feels less like a venue and more like a world of its own. Every corner holds a quiet kind of beauty: the breeze through the palms, the reflections on the marble floors, the endless views over the Amalfi Coast.

What makes Villa Astor so special is not only its breathtaking aesthetic, but the atmosphere it creates. Elegant without trying too hard. Grand, yet deeply intimate. A place where time slows down and every moment feels cinematic in the most effortless way.

Hello there.
A few new people joined this little corner recently, so I thought it might be time for a proper introduction.

Here are 5 things many people don’t know about me:

1. I wasn’t born in Germany.
I was born in Kazakhstan and grew up with a deeply international and intercultural background.
2. I speak five languages.
German, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
I’ve always been fascinated by people, cultures and human connection beyond borders.
3. Before photography, I worked in marketing, trade fairs and event organization.
So yes, timelines, logistics and staying calm under pressure are basically part of my DNA.
4. I studied International Cultural and Business Studies.
Looking back, it probably explains why I feel so at home documenting weddings all across Europe today.
5. I’m a Ta**us.
Which basically means I’m a mix of emotional depth, aesthetics, structure… and needing at least two coffees before becoming a functional human in the morning.

First day in Sorrento.
This city will always have a special place in my heart.
We spent the most wonderful family vacation here last summer, enjoying every minute of this beautiful life after our son’s car accident in July. Memories of this blissful time come across every small road I walk here, eating at the same restaurants as last year. Now that I’m here all by myself it feels totally different and I have more attention to the details surrounding me than when traveling with the kids.
I’m staying at lovely right in the heart of the old town, only a few steps from iconic where I will attend a creative workshop hosted by the talented and admired . I can’t wait to capture the beauty of this place, stunning dresses, amazing florals and beautiful models Tali’s team put together.
