Kicked things off at the rescue dogs & SAR helicopter exercise Hornberg 26 watching the rescue crews work close-in terrain.
Then off to Switzerland for the 100th anniversary airshow at St. Gallen-Altenrhein, celebrating a full century of aviation history at this iconic airfield. 🇨🇭
August wrap-up in Neuburg, where NOBLE with the Castle Tiger Eurofighter added some welcome color to the ramp. The Bavarian Tigers Neuburg touched back down from Exercise Pitch Black in Australia - always great to see them home after the big deployment down under.📸☀

End of an era. 🚁 Saying goodbye to a true legend of German naval aviation with the Sea Lynx Golden Tour this month! Thank you for decades of service, old Lynx! 🫡🇩🇪

Photographed some more iconic already retired ex-Bundeswehr helicopters and the The Flying Bulls at the Fliegerhorstmuseum Leipheim Militärfahrzeugtreffen. As always, an absolutely fantastic small event hosted by the team.

The international edition of the Ocean Sky exercise was once again on the Ejército del Aire / Spanish Air Force's schedule at Gando Air Base in Ocotober 2025 ☀🌴🇪🇸

Indian Air Force Su-30MKI, United States Air Force RAF Lakenheath Strike Eagle, Greek&Portugese Vipers, a lot of Spanish fighters and the Bavarian Tigers Neuburg with their Castle Tiger – it was probably the best lineup ever. So, off to the Canary Islands again with our report of this large scale exercise now online:

Solstice light + the enormous heatwave + storms (like in Leszno 😢) + AE cancellation = definitely the toughest time of the year for photography right now.

..So no long trips for now, just keeping it local in Bavaria. Noble in the Bavarian Tigers Neuburg new special Eurofighter with an absolute powerhouse of a display🤍💙

Great Tiger vibes, tough shots in Greece! 🇬🇷🐯

NATO Tiger Meet 2026 in Araxos was an incredible experience with epic jets and amazing camaraderie - but from a photography standpoint, it definitely threw some challenges our way. Tough lighting & weather and tricky angles meant fighting for every single clean shot! 📸
Breathtaking special liveries, raw afterburner power, and elite jet action against a stunning Mediterranean backdrop - well, not this time. The biggest disappointment was that the NTM participants weren't allowed to fly through the canyon. So once more it was up to Spooky to get the job done 😉👻

The TaktLwG 74 beautiful new special livery for its 65th anniversary taking to the skies over Neuburg for the first time ever. Fliegerstaffel 17 "Falcons" 🦅 did a little BFM exercise in Bavaria as well 🇨🇭☀

Next stop: 🤷🏻‍♂️, not 🇹🇷❌

Hosted by the 335 MIRA, the Hellenic Air Force welcomed the NATO Tiger Association to the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 🐾 this month. Approximately 60 combat aircraft, reconnaissance assets, and helicopters from over ten nations converged on Araxos AB to train in modern air warfare operations. Clear skies and twin engines roar over Talavera la Real airbase in Spain last month. ALA 23 celebrated 300k flight hours with the Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter in the Spanish Air Force / Ejército del Aire. The small 300.000 HORAS event was organized with a lot of effort by Commander Colonel de Bodadilla and his men and women of Ala23 resulting in some nice and unusual shots. 📸 ☀ 🇪🇸

There was plenty of action and light at home too. Lufthansa's beautiful new special livery for its 100th anniversary on the A380 again and some fighter jets.

Next stop: NTM 🇬🇷🐯

Just a small feature update this month. Exercise Iniochos 2026 offered once more a nice opportunity for a short trip to Greece 🇬🇷

Here’s a quick look at some of the best moments from this year’s action, hunting low level fighter jets in the canyon.

Due to the situation in the middle east more or less all international participants cancelled the exercise. But the action was on with HAF F-16, Mirage and Phantoms😍
