A man, a woman & a garden. The perfect combination. What makes it even more special is the new life that's about to be brought into this world.

No forbidden fruit. No snake. Just two people deeply in love. And expecting one of God's great gifts.

I'm glad I could capture these precious moments for & .k. From engagement, to wedding, to this new chapter. All along, these two have always brought so much fun to each photoshoot. Here's to many more priceless memories!

| ROYALTY

In April, one of my best friends tied the knot. It was such a special occasion. Not only because the coronation of King Charles III was on the week after, and with it came an air of excitement. But because I've had the privilege of knowing Dan through the ups & downs of the past 8 years. And this was a culmination of all the good things a person like him deserves.

For me, true royalty comes from 'loyalty'. To serve rather than to reign. Seeing Dan surrounded by his groomsmen was such a pleasure. It is a testimony to his selfless care for others. It is true surrender to those he loves.

And more importantly - God's presence could be felt throughout the whole wedding day. I'm grateful I was able to capture the beginning of his married life.

| SIMPLE TOUCH
A few years ago, I did a pre-wedding shoot with Manuel & Jordana. It was a day in Munich's amazing Botanical Gardens and we managed to find a few remote spots away from people. This image shows a couple that is genuinely in love - represented by that . You can't fake true love!

| HERITAGE
This is Ma.
She truly represents our family's heritage. She is my son's great-grandmother. She's been through the valley of the shadow of death - quite literally. She lost two sons in the span of 8 months.
This picture is from the time before her eldest son, my father-in-law, passed away, and her resilient smile is still intact.
This smile was forged by a hard life in a country that can often times be ruthless. This country, South Africa, is celebrating its heritage today.
Without the strong women who hold families together, South Africa wouldn't have much of a heritage.
Yes, men might go out to work. But what a man comes home to afterward, is what really counts. Her hands have rolled an immeasurable amount of rotis to satisfy hungry mouths. Her masala stained fingers, have comforted a vast number of households.
Ma adopted me into her family and, every time I visit, she makes sure I'm well-fed. Though grief has veiled her smile, I will always see her as the woman in this picture - hopeful for the future.

| ILUMINA
Valentin & Melanie are dear old friends. Their ministry and work with people living in extremely difficult circumstances in Arad (Romania) is truly inspirational. Their big hearts and love for others really bring light into the darkness. And light really needs to be shed on the destitute lives many in Arad have to lead.

What really broke my heart was to hear about newborn babies that are left at the hospital by their mothers. Before they can be adopted, the hospitals keep them subdued for one year (pumping their bloodstream full of sleeping drugs). After one year, these drugged up babies are then handed over.

It makes no sense.

This wonderful couple were able to safe one baby girl from this horrific fate. Just one. But at least that's one that won't have to go through this!

Hospitals in Romania must be held accountable for this despicable practice. If you're reading this and want to help, contact me!

True love is shown in the tiny and often unseen moments. When I was given the chance to take pictures at Olivier & Emily's wedding, it was clear to everyone, how much they love each other. A caring, intimate into the ear of a loved one - a bridal glance of full of romance.

A few months ago, I had the privilege to join my friend Charles shooting the latest music video for Chris Lungu. It was my first BTS shoot and I really enjoyed experiencing the expertise that goes into filming a project of this calibre. Music brings out such raw emotion in us and it's great to capture those moments.

| WILD HEART |
Four years ago, we came across this remarkable man named Dusty. My father-in-law took us on a shipping trip to Transkei, when Dusty approached us and asked for some spare change. We invited him for dinner and that evening, we ended up hearing an incredible life story that sounded like it should be a movie.

Every year, Dusty WALKS from Cape Town all the way along the South African coast to the East and then up to Mozambique. On the way, he does odd jobs here and there. Sometimes he even has to eat snakes and fight for his survival against street gangs.

On Christmas Day 2016, he called my father-in-law to tell him that he reached Durban and to say 'Thank You' for the dinner.

Every person has a unique story. We just need to be willing to open our ears, eyes, and hearts to them. I'm glad I was able to photograph him, because his eyes reveal the hardships he's had to face.
