Do you remember that time your parents told you to smile before taking your picture? Everyone had to smile on photos, even if you were feeling utmost miserable.
Today it’s the opposite. Everyone looks fuc*ing serious and distant if they want to seem successful enough, powerful enough, dangerous enough. The more the unpleasant you behave, the more the attention.
When all this façade collapses and the shield falls to our feet, we will all smile again despite of looking vulnerable. In the meantime, some guys will keep smiling no matter the context. Like Elia, who was smiling when I met him first time and kept smiling since then.
