Happy to share the latest test shots from the recently CLA’d Nikkor 28mm F/2.8 AI-S. A fantastic wide angle lens with a crazy close focusing distance of 20cm. I’d like to express gratitude to Juliano Cameras London for allowing me the opportunity to bring these vintage lenses back to life. It’s all been a great experience and I hope that these lenses find their new home soon.
As for the previous CLA, If I am not mistaken, the Nikkor 35mm F/2.0 AI-S has been paired with a pristine Nikon FM2 - if you’re around Notting Hill today go check out Juliano’s vintage collection on Portobello Road.

Felt unbloated, might delete. I think the lens works. Speed edit resulted in this neon piece. Will pay closer attention to the masks next time.

Ah, the frustration. I’ve managed to clean some of the glass elements in the next Nikkor CLA project. Sadly, I can’t unscrew the front barrel! So, even though I have managed to get the focus moving again, it isn’t a proper clean and re-grease. However, the test photos at various f-stops and distances are promising. And I am encountering the same hurdle with the 28mm F2.8 AIS (pictured at the end).

Adapted to my mirrorless Lumix S5, here are the test shots from my progress thus far on the Nikkor 50mm f2 - a lens that should have been simple to get into. I just don’t have the wrists for it!

UK Solar Eclipse - London 12/08/2026 - From our window.

Shots for the moment - shots for fun. Giulia got us each a set of those special paper glasses, which included a couple of filters for our cameras. So I blue-tacked the filter to my longest lens, which was my old and broken 70-300mm. The aperture blades are broken so don’t even know what F-stop this is. Super cropped, artsy and lovely xx

For those that won’t be watching the vid, here are some of the test shots from the Nikon 35mm F2 NIKKOR AIS adapted to my LUMIX S5. I feel these shots represent a successful attempt at a CLA of this lovely lens, which was a popular choice for street photographers and photojournalists during the 80s through to the mid 2000s. Not to be confused with its premium predecessor the 35mm f1.4, this lens became an accessible option for photographers who wanted a lighter, smaller, less bulky and less expensive fast, wide-angle lens.
