Next stop: the cybook is part of a selection of books at the opening of ANNELISE – RAUM FÜR BÜCHER UND BILDER.

07. DEZEMBER 2024 | 14:00 BIS 21:00 UHR

ANNELISE – RAUM FÜR BÜCHER UND BILDER widmet sich schwerpunktmäßig dem Fotobuch in unterschiedlichsten Formaten. Neben einem Speicher für künstlerisch und dokumentarische Fotobücher ist der Raum Diskursfläche für fotobuchrelevante Themen: Vom Design bis zur Produktion, vom inhaltlichen Fokus hin zur fotografischen Praxis.
ANNELISE – RAUM FÜR BÜCHER UND BILDER zeigt regelmäßig neueste Erscheinungen mit Dortmund Bezug, aber auch überregionale Projekte, bietet temporäre Workspaces für BA/MA Projekte und fototheoretische Forschung, lädt zu Talks und Symposien und versammelt die Netzwerke.

In kurzen Präsentationen geben Daniel Chatard, Thekla Ehling, Saskia Darija Gettel, Martin Lamberty, Nikita Teryoshin sowie Oliver Sieber und Katja Stuke Einblicke in ihre Projekte und Arbeitsweisen.

Der Verlag Kettler schlägt mit einem Pop-Up-Office auf und es gibt Raum und Zeit zum Blättern ausgewählter Buchprojekte

The Cybook (cyborg + book) is an experimental digital photo book build around a Raspberry Pi Zero and 3D printing. Version V03 contains a previously unpublished photo series from Tokyo. The order of the photos is random, with the slideshow being controlled by a rotary k**b. By pressing the k**b the user can generate a new, randomized series. This way, every user gets to see a different version of Tokyo.

Black, gold and hexagons (I made some patches).

This is what happens we a design-obsessed brain plays Deus Ex: Human Revolution for the first time. I fell in love with the game almost instantly and after I was finished I wanted to drag a piece from it into reality. The design for the patch is the menu icon for the augmentations, painstakenly recreated from a stupendously tiny screenshot with Adobe Illustrator. I only wanted a patch for myself but since every vendor I contacted had a minimum order of at least 20 I now have some left.

New project: Pwnagotchi battery case for Waveshare UPS Hat

There are already plenty of cases for the most adorable ai ever out there, but most of them require an external power source. I wanted an integrated battery and since I had a Waveshare hat left from a different project I tried it as an alternative to the pi sugar. The case fits the following parts, stacked on top of each other:

1) Waveshare E-Ink Display pHAT 2.13 inch
2) Raspberry Pi Zero WH
3) Waveshare UPS* Hat (C)

The 1000 mAh battery gives aprox. 4 hours of runtime, afterwards you can either a) recharge the battery while the pi remains off b) recharge the battery while the pi is on (the hat supports pass through) c) plug your external power source directly into the pi and recharge the battery later.

All ports are still accesible and I also added a wider loop to attach molle style key fobs.

*UPS means Uninterruptible Power Supply and it's basically a small battery.

Remember Elliot the pwnagotchi? He used to run on an external powerbank which made it a little complicated to take him for a walk. I did a test if he could be powered by the Waveshare UPS Hat and it works. Now I'm back at 3d modelling with Fusion 360 to build a case that fits the battery, too.
