Mothering sketchbook - in progress. I decided to try to sketch my son every day, and since the only time I have for it is when he’s sleeping, those are always drawings of him asleep. When he’s asleep, my hands are free to be used in other way than caring. But my mind is creative all the time, I’m just channeling my creativity into those small pockets of time, however little I have. This is what I call The Art of Everyday. To every mother out there: YOU’VE GOT THIS.
When you feel like you’ve reached your limits and can’t go on any further - you’ve got this.
When you would like to sleep, shower, clean, work, exercise and rest all within the free 15 minutes you get - you’ve got this.
When your body doesn’t feel yours - you’ve got this.
When you don’t remember how it feels to wake up rested - you’ve got this.
When you love your child more than imaginable and at the same time crave time apart from them - you’ve got this.
When you get looked down on because you’re taking too much space - you’ve got this.
When you can’t hold the tears anymore - you’ve got this.
When there seem to be only questions and no answers - - you’ve got this.
When you feel alone - you’ve got this. Because you’re never alone. Look around, there are mothers everywhere. Keeping this world alive. One hug at a time.

’TIS THE SEASON to be honest. Whether you celebrate Xmas or not, I hope that it can be a chance to rethink our habits and open up. We tend to make our minds about something and keep that opinion for a long time - it’s simpler, easier to live this way. But aren’t we missing out on the diverse beauty of this world when we stick to what’s easy and simple? Take the red color, so tightly connected with Xmas celebrations. We like it as a symbol of love, passion, and warmth. Our blood - the sign of life, is red as well. Yet there is „good” blood and „bad” blood. The bad one being the menstrual blood - for centuries people who menstruate were shamed for their monthly bleeding, made to leave the communities and stay secluded. It’s still a taboo in so many places. Hands up if you menstruate and ever chose to say „I have a headache” instead of admitting you have menstrual cramps. If you ever tried hiding your pad or tampon while on the way to a public bathroom. I did that many times, but at some point I stopped. I realized that nothing’s gonna change if people who menstruate won’t change the way they talk about it: open and honest. Period blood is not dirty (if it was we would die from toxic shock syndrome). It’s natural, it’s beautiful. I hope that this Holiday Season when you think of red, you’ll think of menstrual blood: the force of life. Without menstruation there would be no birth of anyone to celebrate in the first place. (First posted in 2021)

New chapter begins - a few thoughts. Filled up with love to the brim and my heart keeps expanding to fill up even more. Labour is a b*tch, but the feeling that comes with it is the most magical, surreal and gratifying experience of all in my life. V***a is a portal into another dimension and should be celebrated as such. Every person that went through labour deserves respect just for this single act of total surrender and power. Yet at the same time mothering happens regardless of the act of giving birth, it happens as a choice. Choosing love is always the answer.
