I always wonder what couples are imagining during maternity sessions.

Are they picturing the first night at home? Wondering who the baby will look like? Thinking about the kind of parents they’ll become?

There’s so much excitement, but also so much unknown. You can prepare the nursery, choose the name, and read all the books, but you still can’t fully imagine how much life is about to change.

Maternity sessions capture the last chapter before everything changes, while also celebrating everything that’s about to begin.

I think becoming a mom changes more than your title. It changes the way you notice things, what used to go unnoticed suddenly becomes everything.

It changes what feels important. You realize life isn't made up of the big milestones. It's made up of thousands of little moments that quietly become the story you'll miss the most.

Nobody teaches you those things.

I love sessions like this because they feel so her...

I hope we stop making women feel like motherhood has to fit into one aesthetic. One of my favorite things about maternity sessions is when they actually reflect the person in front of my camera.

I hope you never feel like becoming a mom means losing yourself.

Babies don’t need to perform, smile for the camera, pose or do anything special. They just exist. They stretch, yawn, sleep, eat, and somehow that’s enough to completely fill a room with love.

I love newborn photography so much. It slows everyone down for a little while and reminds me that some of life’s most meaningful moments happen when nothing extraordinary is happening at all.

These are the moments I hope families remember years from now, because this season changes faster than anyone expects.
